There's also Picasa Web Albums. My only beef with them is the space you get is limited and you can't tag things like Flickr. Picasa has fairly good imaging software though.
deviantArt is more of an artist kind of deal. Webshots is ok, but if I had to chose among them all it'd be Flickr. That or just upload some gallery software to my own webspace.

webshots limits your pictures too. i think i have maybe 6 accounts with them because of it. i don't think you're limited with photobucket if you wanted to use that, although i'm not sure if they have any editing features or anything else you may be looking for. 12/8/2006 3:06:23 PM |

i dont need any editing software, i have that covered
i dont mind paying a small fee to host pictures as i dont own a domain
my main concern is picture quality and resolution 12/8/2006 5:12:41 PM |

i have a php Gallery installed on my side-website that I just use for hosting. I might be able to set you up an account of your own. 12/8/2006 6:15:36 PM |

photobucket? ive always used that and have like 10 pages now. Thing is I dont think my gallery is public or if it can be made public, but its a good hosting site for free. 12/8/2006 10:11:45 PM |

All of those sites (except deviantart) use their own recompression algorithms and will limit the max filesize and resolution of your uploads.
Of course, deviantart isnt intended as a personal photo album, but if you are putting up quality photography, it's DEFINITELY the way to go. 12/8/2006 10:33:54 PM |

Seeing this and the resulting thread of the reviewer and the CEO of smugmug, I would give them a try. 12/8/2006 10:40:25 PM |
