Saw it last night, and I enjoyed it thoroughly. I have no idea why this movie got average reviews.

Pros:

1) The historical information and context were excellent, defining the time and situation very clearly.
2) Good job covering the social implications of being pregnant before marriage.
3) Herrod - best character in the film
4) Three Wise men - some called their involvement silly or irrelevant. I found it enlightening, since the movie provides background into their decision to follow the star.

Cons

1) The chemistry between Joseph and Mary was suspect, although in the story they were betrothed so that makes sense.
2) I'm sure they could have found an actor for Mary that looked more like a woman and less like a 12-year-old boy.
3) The crappy ending - I mean you know they're setting it up for a sequel
