does anyone have experience with insurance on their phone, and if o, have you had to do anything with it? a while ago at work my phone got knocked into a bucket of water. phone still works, but the display doesnt, so i cant do anything useful besides simply send and receive calls. now i know about a $50 deductible (well, only found out about that after the fact), but there is some bullshit claims process they make you go thru for a replacement phone. problem is the website ive gone to times out every fucking time i try to get some answers, and i have to start from scratch. has anyone else had to deal with this before? 12/12/2006 2:16:04 PM |

I've lost a ton of phones, well they are in the ocean, but I just call them and they tell you how to do it. I've lost so many phones w/ them, the last one I had to file a police report. 12/12/2006 2:31:21 PM |

I get a cell through my job and I dropped mine into the toilet and it was dead. I took it by the Alltel store and all I had to do was tell them it got wet and died. We have a $50 deductible too, but the process was not hard. They gave me the same phone and activated it without much hassle. Granted this was not Verizon though. 12/12/2006 3:00:36 PM |

Hey I just dropped my phone in the water - I took it to Verizon and told them that it did not work and they ordered me a new one and sent it to my address. They said that they would program it when i got the new one. They mentioned the 50 deductible but never asked me to pay it. 12/12/2006 5:32:19 PM |

I never had a phone die, but my power adapter did. They check my records at the store and saw I was paying for the insurance. So the guy grabbed a new one and gave it to me, no paperwork.
I would go to the store. 12/12/2006 7:06:01 PM |

The store might be able to fix your display without having to replace the whole phone.
If not, they will probably have to have you call in and do the insurance claim. Its fastest over the phone. I was at an indirect store, so I was unable to do them in the office, but the corporate stores might be able to. But your a fucking idiot if you think you don't have to go through filing a claim to use the insurance. Tell your agent that the next time you hit a fucking deer and he'll laugh at you just like I would if I still sold Verizon phones. 12/12/2006 7:20:38 PM |
