too bad you didn't know this earlier.....Trans-Siberian Orchestra concert is Thursday and if this was my anniversary I would have loved to have gone to this. Tickets are sold out though. I guess you could consider tickets to this concert was my 4 yr anniversary present.

what about going to see Christmas lights......there's this place in Clayton called Lights on the Neuse. I haven't been so I can attest to it, but that could be fun.

Lights on the Neuse: Wednesday through Sunday evenings until Dec. 31, 6-10 p.m. Includes a 45-minute hayride filled with magical lights and sounds, Santa's Sweet Shop and a visit with Santa; Boyette Farms, 1620 Loop Road, Clayton
Cost: $10 (ages 13 and older); 5 (ages 5-12); free (ages 5 and younger); $2 of every adult ticket will be donated to the Me Fine Foundation

there's something in Cary ... I think they call it Tinsel Town ... I remember someone saying something about outdoor ice skating, if you like that sort of thing (I personally hate ice skating )

You could go to a ballet production - "The Nutcracker" is at the Progress Energy Center through December 23...

me and the gf went last year to the Nutcracker ballet and it was soooo boring, unless you and/or her are big ballet or Nutcracker enthusiasts I wouldnt recommend going

I've been to plays before and they were a lot of fun, but the Nutcracker was lame

haha

I BARELY got tickets to the TSO concert 2 days after they went on sale. I got 4 AMAZING SEATS. Right behind the mixing console, on the first level.

(for us audiophiles, that's where you want to sit-- right behind where they tune the sound for the venue)

I was about to settle for a side section and the ticket lady was like OH Wait!! Here's four in a row!

hot double date

Tinsel town is ok...I wouldnt do it for a 2 year anniversary though. There's nothing to look at (decoration wise)...and the outdoor skating rink is VERY VERY small. They allow too many people in the rink at one time and it's just a clusterfuck in general. You're constantly having to avoid little 2 year olds skating around with while scooting around with buckets.

In summary, it's fun, but definately not "nice".

ah, sorry, I'm just excited about it-- been looking forward to it since last year's TSO concert let out. haha. They're great shows.

That being said, I would just do something you both enjoy, but maybe dress up a bit-- don't overcomplicate it-- just do a nice dinner and a show somewhere.

I bought my TSO tickets on November 25th. Granted they are not the best, but I will be present so that is all that matter. These tickets went on sale late October, and now they are sold out.
