I'm in the middle of the worst eBay experience ever (and I've been using eBay for 5 years now) When I told them I was going to post negative feedback, they said that would be a bad idea because their computer system will automaticaly submit negative feedback for me. WTF??! I said that's horrible customer service and they said it helps them solve "issues" 12/13/2006 5:29:06 PM |

Did you use Paypal?
I only have one negative feedback and it's from some dude who left negative feedback for me after I did it to him. He wanted to "mutually withdraw" the feedback, but I told him to fuck off. I consider it to be taking one for the team. Paypal refunded the money in my case though. 12/13/2006 6:01:54 PM |

if you read ebay's policy you'll know that they don't care. feedback is just something nice they do for the community, they don't regulate it except in extreme circumstances.
unfortunately, if you are gonna give someone a negative, you'll have to assume they do the same to you. only time you'll be able to do anything is if they are holding it "ransom," you can file some type of fraud/harassment/something lawsuit. this really isnt the case. i guess you could file a BBB complaint. 12/13/2006 6:19:20 PM |

Lay some negative feedback on them, accept it in return...then do not under any circumstances remove the negative feedback until you have the product or cash in hand, many a time they will ask you to remove the feedback in order to solve the issue, and as soon as you do they throw you a away and forget about you, because you cannot leave negative feedback twice..then if it works out mutually withdrawl 12/13/2006 6:56:28 PM |

not really if they are a big company. a few negatives amongst hundreds or thousands of positives just looks like a few accidents. if you have hardly any feedbakck and try to sell though, you wont be covered by paypal buyer insurance which is a big no-no to a lot of buyers.12/13/2006 8:01:18 PM |

if going through ebay doesnt help, and if you used a credit card through paypal, say discover or american express, call them and tell them about it... and they will [do whatever they can, and most likely faster than you could on your own] resolve the issue. it's worked for me... 12/13/2006 8:27:58 PM |

just leave the seller a negative. if you did your part, you can submit a reply to the negative the seller leaves for you (assuming they do) stating that you did your part by paying promptly and they are the ones with the issue. negatives never hurt a buyer unless you only have one feedback and it's that negative. negatives hurt if you are a seller. 12/13/2006 9:49:22 PM |

I bought an open box digital camera from a seller with a brick and mortar store in NJ...they were a power seller, over 1,500 feedback points...I figured it was a safe bet.
I paid within a few days of winning the auction. I didn't pay immediately because I was waiting to get paid, but it was about 3 days after the auction ended that I paid.
When the item didn't arrive two weeks after that, I e-mailed. Nothing. E-mail again. Nothing. Call...talked to a guy who said the camera I bought was broken so they were waiting to get a new one. I said wtf excuse me? You sold an open box camera you claimed worked...without knowing if it actually did work? So they said when they got this replacement in, they would overnight it to me. I said fine.
Another week goes by...the day after they said it would arrive, I called again and left voicemail. No call back. The next day I call again, and get the same guy in their eBay department. He said this second camera was defective. Again, I asked why no one called me. He said something about customer service and the technicians and blah blah blah. I said at this point it's been a month since the auction ended, nearly a month since I paid, and I have no camera in my hands. I said he better have the camera I want in my hands by Friday morning or I'm leaving negative feedback.
That's when he went into the whole "you better not leave negative feedback..." deal.
So after ripping the guy a new one, we came to a solution. I'm going to get a better camera for what I paid for, but it will be arriving a month later than it should have.
I think I'm still going to leave him negative feedback just out of spite. 12/14/2006 9:00:28 AM |

Ebay doens't suspend people on one account, they give them a slap on the wrist. you need like 3 within a set time period before they get banned.
I HATE Ebay they are shitty and give a rats ass about the buyer or seller, they make money off it either way and thats all they care about. 12/14/2006 11:54:22 AM |

I bought a router one time on there and the guy said he accidently shipped it to someone else, which I figured was possible, but wouldnt he have shipped me something also that was supposed to be shipped the another person, or did he just forget he saw my name on the paypal sheet?
1 month later, the guy said he never received the router back from the person, so he couldnt refund my money to me and I had to pay extra shipping if he did get it back to ship it to me.
I left him a negative feedback and he left me one also - which was completly unfair, considering I never got my money or the router. The guy had 30,000+ plus ratings, only 3 negative feedbacks in like 2 years and I'm the one stuck with nothing. grrrr.

There should be a 1-week window to give negative feedback to a buyer. Did he pay, yes or no? After that, most problems are the seller's fault. 12/14/2006 2:23:56 PM |

fuck negative feedback, just tell them you want your money back immediately. I just left my first negative feedback ever on ebay, only long after it was apparent the kid couldn't deal with his responsibilities, and after he left me positive feedback (as I paid within an hour of the auction as i always do) 12/14/2006 2:51:02 PM |

meh, bad idea. i had a buyer ask about an item i sold him. i informed him that the issue he was having was just a small adjustment needed because of shipping, happens a lot. i wrote a whole spiel on how to do it. he seemed happy but about 5 weeks later told me that my item was broken and added a whole slew of new accusations to the pot. guy was a douche and lost his paypal claim, but left me neg feedback. glad i didnt give him positive until he left me one.
sounded like instead of tightening an outside screw, he pulled the entire thing apart and either broke it or something. if he had taken it to a viable repairman/store i might have believed him, but 5 weeks after owning an item you cant just claim it came that way (when from his description of the problem it was obvious he tinkered with it).

If you use a credit card, ALWAYS dispute before the deadline.
The scammers will try to string you along until it's too late to get the credit card company involved. Don't fall for their tricks. 12/14/2006 5:49:42 PM |

Dont post feedback yet, if they did not ship anything that is grounds enough for a refund. You can dispute the transaction and get the charges reversed/ 12/14/2006 6:30:17 PM |
