basically the parents of a couple of big name players on the team are whiney, ignorant pieces of shit that think their kid is god himself and should touch the ball on every play.

this is why kids are so fucked up these days.

How could you expect a kid to be happy with extensive playing time as a true freshman on a team that wins 10 games, advances to the SEC Championship Game and will play in one of the biggest non-BCS bowls? What do team accomplishments matter when Little Johnny isn't getting his touches?"

Parents these days are fucking retarded. I'm glad my mom smartly chose when to intervene and when to make me learn the hard way.

The majority of the time, it was "learn the hard way."

True. I'd love to see my kid play sports if he or she wants to. But I don't want to embarass him.

The people that piss me off are the frickin players. Can you ever look at the QB with respect again if you're another player on the team when he cried to his momma about his lack of passes.

Here's the QB's mom.

Now if Houston Nutt recruited these guys (Mustain, Williams, etc) promising a passing-oriented attack, it's easy to see why some of them are considering transferring where their natural abilities at their natural positions can be realized, especially if they're trying to get to the next level - and presumably, if you're playing football in the SEC, that thought is never far from the front of your mind

For me, however, it would be very tough to leave a team that just played for the SEC championship and is on it's way to developing an offense nobody can figure out - although who knows how well it will run once McFadden is gone after next year

Coaches lie all the time in recruiting. And it's not like they're doing an all-run offense and are going 2-10 with it. They made the SEC championship game. If the QB and receivers can't handle that, transfer. But the whole "parents talking to the AD about the direction of the offense" just cries petulant brat.

The first thing that popped to mind when I saw this is Harrison Beck and his reasons for leaving Nebraska for State. His mom had alot to do with him transferring because of his playing time situation at Nebraska

THIS ARTICLE MAKES ME LOVE JOHN L. SMITH EVEN MORE...THAT GUY IS HILARIOUS

Quote :
"Then-Cardinals coach John L. Smith was asked about the tall, athletic kid working out with the quarterbacks at the morning session.

"He's a safety," Smith said.

"Then why is he with the quarterbacks?" he was asked.

"Because his dad's here," Smith said. "He's leaving at lunch. This afternoon, the kid will be a safety."

"

THE PARENTS SHOULDN'T GET INVOLVED....IF I WAS THE COACH I WOULD BENCH ALL THREE PLAYERS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR JUST TO LET THEM KNOW WHO RUNS THE PROGRAM

I think it's different from Beck's situation. From what it sounds like all of these guys got to start many games. The Nebraska coaches forced him to burn his redshirt year just to start like 2 games. Obviously a lot of freshmen are gonna be rusty if they haven't played all year. Also the Nebraska coaches reportedly weren't working with him enough. Now his mom definitely should have kept her mouth shut during the whole ordeal, but if you think that you are being treated unfairly or are not being given enough chances to prove yourself, then why not transfer.

"In a fervent attempt to secure his job after an ugly 4-7 season in 2005, Nutt turned his program into the Springdale (Ark.) High School Continuing Education and Glorification Academy last winter. He hired the school's coach, Gus Malzahn, to be his offensive coordinator. That paved the way for the signing of four players from Springdale's undefeated state champs, most notably prep All-American quarterback Mitch Mustain."

this is one of the most important paragraphs
