I'm likely going to be purchasing a vehicle for my mom to roll around in next year Jeep keeps talking like they're bringing a new diesel (benzi) in something is this just the liberty? or something nicer like the GC or commander.

A lot of companies held off on their diesel production this year because of the new low sulfur requirements that are coming out right now. May want to wait a little while before buying a new diesel, there will be more to choose from in like 8-12 months. VW is rolling out the new passat wagon with a diesel soon.

the CRD is a sweet engine. i've heard only praises, no complaints.

a tech i know at leith says there are no common issues showing up yet.

There are no more CRD Libertys. Jeep quit making them because the VM Motori engine couldn't meet 2007 EPA requirements as is and the expense of making them so was prohibitive (which I think is a load of shit).
