So, I have cingular and use their data service for internet virtually everywhere on my laptop. I just got a new laptop and instead of the regular PCMCIA slot it has an ExpreeCard slot (it's an averatec 2300 series laptop). Supposedly this is the new thing but still not very common. The Cingular rep told me they did not specifically make or sell an expresscard based card, but that if I could find one that was unlocked it would probably work.

You'd have to switch carriers but you can bet they arent getting rid of USB ports anytime soon.

yea verizon has one also, just trying to stay on cingular for as long as possible since the parents are still paying for this plan
