Thinking about getting an 03-04 Disco. I have heard a lot of mixed signals about them. Anyone have one that could give some insight?

primer and i both had 96 rovers.

although his has been altered.

my sister drives it and it has 117K miles, only things ive had to fix were the front shocks, and just recently a window regulator...

its a british car, half the times the electrical stuff is out of wack, but who knows, im not spending the money to fix it.

they are solid as hell cars though, when my sister had some better tires, it never got stuck (we would only go to the sand at the beach and drive)..

but it has a slight engine knock right now. so who knows whats up.

there isnt much left on a '96 and up rover that could be considered "british"

BMW bought rover in the early-mid '90s and then Ford bought them a couple years back

'04 is the year to get if you want to ever go off road, because it came factory with the Center Differential Lock

if you buy one, get an extended warranty for as long as you can, it will pay for itself. the vehicles are not as trouble prone as most people make them out to be- however repairs get expensive.

I should point out that there is a good bit of difference (although not visually) between a 1996 Discovery Series I and a 03/04 Discovery Series II.
