so i dont know if this was old

but for a top 10 ooc game, the rbc was embarassing tonight, in the swpc section i constantly was hearing myself yell b/c nobody else was cheering at all. the only two WOLF/PACK cheers tonight were started by me, that is pitiful.

i felt like there must have been librarians at the game or something b/c it was quiet as shit. i understand graduation was today, i finished my masters, but that is no excuse for the people who came to the game. if you plan to fill a sideline seat, you should plan to make some noise or trade for an endzone seat.

When we lose you'll always hear about how the crowd wasn't into the game. Crowds aren't the cause of losses. Crowds react to what is going on during the game. Don't be surprised if a crowd is relatively quiet when you're down by 20 points.

it seems like most fans would prefer to get more worked up about who the next coach should be, rather then the actual games.

I'll admit, i was quiet the whole game.

but I'm sick as a dog, and barely had a voice

so i feel like i deserve a medal for just showing up.

It did look lame on TV. Say what you will about the holidays, etc. but this is a top 10 team. Should have been much louder and more people.

every time I sneezed or blew my nose, I did it very loudly.

We were right next to the alabama section, so I would sneeze in their direction without covering my mouth.

I hope they all get sick.

definitely agree. had sideline tickets and my throat hurts like crap today from yelling so much. but i definitely felt like i was only one of a few. i was flat out pissed off yesterday during the game b/c the crowd was so pathetic. it was my first game this season so granted i didnt really know what to expect from the crowd. but i was defintely hoping for a louder crowd than it was last night. and agreed, had people stayed it woulda been rocking at the end. gg to the guys who stayed and made it loud towards the end.

This thread is fucked up. You can't complain about people who showed up to see our crappy team play an overrated top 10 team over christmas break. I don't care if they were reading the newspaper, they're better than an empty seat. Oh and the WOLF/PACK cheer while we're on offense...doesn't really help our team.

^Then you haven't been to the right games. Remember only UNC and Duke count? That's why Herb sucked.

The crowd was awful and last year for GW it was actually good and they were #12.

It seems to me everyone wanted a new coach, but is unwilling to show up because we suck now.

^^You obviously weren't at the Duke game when they were ranked #1 and we rushed the floor, and i guess you weren't there during the wake game when chris paul had his nut punching incident

Wolfpack Sports>>>>>Any holiday.

I was there cheering. GW game last year was not bad.

I think the point is that no matter who we play this year, nobody is showing up.

I had courtside... barely cheered. If the players are giving a lackluster performance so will I be. The way they played most of the game was embarassing.

Give me something to cheer about instead of constantly throwing the ball out of bounds or into a defenders hands.

alot of what you guys are saying about christmas break and stuff is wrong

the problem wasnt lack of people, the student section ended up being kinda full

the problem was nobody was loud

Quote :

yea, right, so you might expect the crowd to get quiet once we got down but nobody was making noise at all even at the start, no yelling on D, no cheering on O, nothing.

Quote :
"plus the crowd got back into it when we started getting close at the end

this is true, but there shouldnt need to be a fantastic near comeback before fans get into the game.

Quote :

this isnt football where they need to silence to get the plays in, this is basketball where the players feed off of the crowd energy. talk to a basketball player sometime, most will say they love noise all the time, gets them pumped.

Quote :

nah not at all, people showed up and people showed up AND cheered at the mich game.

Quote :

well lets use some circular logic and say if the fans arent pumped, the players will be less pumped up.

By saying you're using circular logic you already proved yourself wrong.

Its the players job to get pumped up and give it their all. Thats why they get scholarships. I've come to nearly every home game in the last 5 years and the team played with some of the least intensity and "pumped up"ness I've seen. I'm much less motivated to cheer when the players are slumming around for the most part. Of course I'm not trying to say I'm the best of fans, I know I'm not. But in retrospect the players were definately not being the best of players that game either.

the three front rows in 126 sucked... they stood most of the time, one had a red whig, another had a hard hat... but all they did was stand there with their hands in their pockets. they didn't yell on defense the entire game, from the beginning. the entire row in front of me left with 6 mins left. by far, worst fan experience i ever had

^ Was that the year of the 20+ point comeback completed with a Marcus Melvin three? The moment that shot hit is my happiest basketball moment in the RBC. The Duke win was tainted by the fact that I was screaming my fucking head off that Duke was running their offense and the clock was still stopped.

ha, it also snowed the night we beat duke. i remember coming out of the ESA and seeing snow falling, and since i was a senior in high school at the time, me and my friend were freaking out because not only did we beat duke, but it was snowing so we were positive school would be cancled the next day. of couse, school was open the next day without a delay.

All I know is that I'm coming in from out of town for a few games the next few weeks and my fellow Wolfpackers better bring it.

None of this "it's christmas, i had exams and graduated, it's cold outside" bullshit.

Come to the game and fucking cheer your head off.
