My company's IT division is understaffed and currently needs someone for a permanent, full-time position. This is an entry-level position and deals primarily with Windows operating systems. The position is slated to start in May (post-graduation) so this is primarily for graduating seniors. Starting salary has not been determined yet.
PM for more details. 12/22/2006 4:20:34 PM |

^^^ It's primarily Windows XP.... salary is up to the head of the IT department. He didn't give me a salary to quote so you can take it up with him. 12/22/2006 4:59:25 PM |

I know you said PM for more info. But you aren't giving much to go off of. For all we know, this is a permanent position on Best Buy's Geek Squad. 12/22/2006 6:54:01 PM |

You guys need to PM your questions if you need something specific. I'd prefer to keep any potentially sensitive information off the thread. 12/28/2006 1:41:54 AM |

for anyone in greensboro, i'm going to need a couple of assistants on a project i have coming up. i'm sure they are doing their own hiring, since i don't do that kind of stuff.... but if you'd like me to forward on your resume, and maybe say you'd be a good fit (if you are) - i'd be happy to. especially if you've never pissed me off on here (ha ha). the project sounds very tedious, but my team won't be the ones doing the pain-in-the-ass work. we be developers ] 12/28/2006 9:13:17 AM |

Entry level.... requires 2 years experience...
does not compute 1/9/2007 10:06:05 AM |

^I think what he means is, entry level as in college graduate, but requires 2 years of experience in IT (as in, internships, part-time jobs, etc)... it's easily feesable for someone to have done this.
Hell, I'm not even an IT related graduate and I'm thinking of applying because of my part-time work experience. 1/9/2007 10:09:37 AM |

I was going to ask, I might be interested. I have a few months experience, but is a degree required? Still working on mine online after school. Just curious, thanks. 1/9/2007 10:11:16 AM |

I wouldn't say so... I mean, someone who's worked part-time on like... the best buy geek squad or something for 2 years would have this experience:

For most IT positions, employers care what skills/certs/experience you have, not what degree. The position I hold has "4-year degree required" (maybe it just said preferred, I dunno) but I work with guys who don't have their degree. I should point out that I make about 10% more /year starting though... 1/9/2007 10:48:24 AM |
