what do you mean "if seattle loses both games"?

Do you mean if they lose, and then the 49ers or Rams win out to win the West, then they have a shot?

We won't beat Atlanta even if they play Schaub at QB. Season is done, let's just lose out and hope for a good draft pick.

I think if the panthers beat the saints next week, and the giants loose again, then they can go.

I haven't seen any official playoff scenarios, but going over the tiebreaking procedures, it looks like Green Bay is in the mix now. If the Packers beat the Bears next week they would finish 8-8 and have a better conference record than the Panthers, so they would get in. So, it looks to me like Carolina needs to have both the Giants and Packers lose next week.

^ along w/ a Carolina win I assume? That would be fucking sweet, but they would probably blow the wild card IIIIIIIIIIIF they happened to stumble into the playoffs.... but you gotta believe ... Chargers vs Panthers? LOL

Correct.

I just looked at the Sportsline scenarios and it confirmed it. So, go Panthers, Bears, and Redskins next weekend! Here's for a miracle.

bttt bitches

if next week:

- Panthers win (@NO)
- Giants lose (@WAS)
- Packers lose (@CHI)

Panthers make the playoffs

we'll probably win and Giants lose and Favre will fucking beat the Bears

but hey, we win and we have a pretty good chance!

normally im the "lets get a better draft pick" type guy when i know we dnt have a championship caliber team.

But I could see ANY playoff team winning the Super Bowl this year given the level of parity and the general craziness of the league...

And since we've clearly got a lot of talent Id love to see us sneak into the playoffs just to see if we can do some damage.

What's the status of Delhomme for next week? As many problems as he's had this season, I think the Panthers need him to beat the Saints. The Packers should lose to the Bears and the Giants could easily lose @ Washington. It looks like beating the Saints is the most difficult part of the scenario.

How long you reckon the Bears will play their starters since they have everything wrapped-up in the NFC. They hung in there this week but could easily mail-it-in and allow Favre and the Packers a chance to waltz in. The Giants are just schizophrenic enough to show up next week after getting their asses handed to them by the Saints. Imagine what if we had held just one of those 4th quarter leads we have blown...

if the panthers could have a defense that doesnt get injured more than Tracy McGrady, that would help.

saints won 1st round bye by the cowboys losing today to philly...which means that i doubt they will play their starters for long against us next week...which means our chances improve.

this would be unreal if we get in

do they have a shot at home field throughout? and does the outcome of next week's game determine that?

yea, all panther hating aside, speaking purely football. IF yall make the playoffs, i don't really see yall going anywhere.

Panthers are playing like they got their heads cut off, and the OC is pulling some NC State shit. You can't win without airing it out in the playoffs, and I dont know what the hell was up with the Falcons, but yall should've gotten ya ass ripped the way panthers were playing, just so happened falcons had a shittier day, but not by much

How many years does Delhomie (i call him delhomie so dont none of you fucks get on my dick about it ) have left on his contract? Between me and friends (panther lovers) the convo of gettin rid of jake comes up. I say it wouldn't happen because he's the face of the panthers, IMO. The good ole boy that has all the south ridin' with yalls bandwagon...but on the other hand, I see that he's one of weak links of your team. Injuries or not, he's not the smartest QB in the league, and underthrows way too much to be considered a threat...Steve Smith just makes him look like a fucking champ.

'cuse my rambling tho, im all hopped up on turkey and ham

^ none of what you just typed is true.
delhomme is not the face of the franchise by any stretch of the imagination. nobody will cry if he leaves, maybe a sniffle or two.
the gameplan agains the falcons couldnt have been better. keep the ball out of vick's hands and weinki's hands and we win. and it worked.
and i think the running the ball 90% of the time will get us to the superbowl.

and no he doest underthrow, he overthrows too much but thanks for pretending to know anything about the panthers.

First the giants game is on saturday night, so we should know if we are playing for anything come sunday morning....lets say they lose....then we gotta take care of business....then theres the fact they moved the green bay chicago game to 815...hence making us not know anything either way until 2007 is rang in.

The Bears don't need to win either, they will play their scrubs most of the game against the Packers and will likely lose to them, seeing how Green Bay has something to play for.

But, you can always hope

Panthers are 3 point favorites

Giants are 2.5 point favorites

Packers are 2.5 point underdogs

If we just assumed every game was 50/50 then we'd have a 1/8 shot of making the playoffs....since we're better than 50/50 in two of them Id sat we're like a ~15% chance to make the playoffs.

i mean even one of those and none of this really matters

his record speaks for itself...delhomme is well above .500 as a starter and has a nice postseason record as well...the only way weinke won 1 game out of his last 19 starts is because we kept him on the sidelines on passing downs
