I'm talking about aggressive inline skating, ala rails, ramps, etc... I've been thinking about getting back into it. I used to be HUGE into it back in my teens, I actually went to Woodward for 2 months. Problem is I haven't skated in like 6 or 7 years, so I'm a little out of shape, and I don't know where I could find some skates to buy.
Anyone around here go to the local skate parks or skate around campus? 12/23/2006 4:10:10 PM |

Yeah it seems like it's totally died around here, but I see that skate park in Cary everytime I drive by on Maynard and I wonder if I'd totally make an idiot out of myself by going there 12/23/2006 4:17:34 PM |

I used to work at Project-58 skatepark off of Six Forks Rd. There is usually no one there during the day b/c kids are in school, some older guys go there and skate the bowl but it's mostly empty. You could buy some used skates at Play It Again sports, I think thats what the place is called. 12/23/2006 4:41:11 PM |

^ I'm going to dig around and see if I can find my old Razor Flat skates, but otherwise I'll probably just get some "value" entry level skates 12/23/2006 7:55:16 PM |

How does it feel to perpetuate stereotypes?
No, they didn't have a "seperate camp" for us. Everyone had tons of fun together. 12/24/2006 10:37:45 PM |

^^haha, sorry. It's just I was a skater and my friends who could afford it went to woodward, and I think they might be personally responsible for the stereotype cause they would be the one kicking your ass. however, you won't find any of them posting, cause conveniently none of them made it to college. I support your newfound interest in needlessly hurting yourself for fun. I'm lazy so I just use beer now. Merry Christmas. 12/25/2006 12:11:30 PM |
