Okie doke, well I'm considering doing a "makeover" type thing, as a treat to myself.

I don't think I've ever truly had a haircut I've **loved**, so I'm looking for a day spa type facility that has some knowledgeable and talented stylists (for a decent price, of course) for a cut/maybe highlights. I'm also considering a massage...so...ideas? experiences? thoughts? etc!

Ah, also preferably in Raleigh

I second an Aveda Salon.

I also want to try skin sense for a massage. I have heard good things about them.

start researching some different haircuts you might be interested, as well as highlight colors. Be sure to look for pictures of people with your same face shape and style. Taking in photos and whatnot of cuts/styles you like can really help out, just realize that it wont be exactly the same on you.

Getting a facial and foot massage (help fix your feet from all that holiday shopping!) is ALWAYS an awesome way to make you feel better even w/out the new haircut.

I've always liked the idea of sweeping side bangs, but I've never really had any AND I've got wavy/curly hair...I dunno how that would look.

I'm also kinda interested in the multi-dimensional highlights...I guess where they do 2 highlights, or a highlight and a lowlight. I think that'd be major $$$ though.

Never had a facial before...but I've heard they are fabulous!

you can get the side sweeping bangs even if you have curly/wavy hair, just get an inexpensive flat iron and use that to straighten your bangs out

i get my hair (semi permanently) dyed & cut for $100 at what is prob considered a little more than a decent place

but i wouldn't recommend my old salon to anyone anymore, what used to take 2 hours to do took 4-5 hours last time because 5 different people were working on me

how much are you looking to spend?

If you want beautiful hair this is the place to go.

You pay for what you get. Not everyone is expensive as Racheal but you will love your hair, she will see to that.

^^ thanks

and blo is where i used to go when i lived in raleigh. the salon is great but i was in there for 4 hours for a job that should have taken 2 on a consistent basis

i had been seeing the wife half of the husband wife team that owns the salon since i was in 10th grade and she's always done an awesome job but since they opened their own salon (blo) they started treating their clients from back in the day with less professionalism, imo.

i think shes way too busy with the salon to be cutting hair anymore, but she shouldn't offer her services if its going to take her forever because shes running around doing other things.

otherwise the salon does good work & has a nice atmosphere

ooh la la Blo sounds magnificent!

Well...I'm used to spending 50-60 on a cut (including tip). I know it'll be more if I add in highlights, plus my hair is probably considered "long" by most places.
