I'd call R&R tomorrow if it's a need to know basis ... they can probably find out for you. Otherwise, my guess would be around the end of this month, allowing time for grade corrections and other things to process.

It should be updated by January 23rd. As Perlith said we wait to get most of the grade changes etc. in before we update it.
I will check tomorrow to see if I can find the actual date. 1/2/2007 10:10:21 PM |

So tell me whats the difference between all three.
Rank in Class: 835 - 4407 (Sophomore Class Obviously) Rank in School/College: 44 - 179 (Im Guessing PAMS, but is it only sophomore class PAMS majors or what) Rank in Dept: 2 - 11 (That doesnt make sense, only 11 stat. majors total? maybe 11 in the sophomore class?
Can someone clarify what all those tech. mean. 1/4/2007 4:30:25 AM |

Seniors are classified as any student having XXX amount of hours. There maybe a lot of 5/6/10 year engineering majors here. 1/5/2007 12:06:09 AM |

Anyone know the answer to this?
Also, if it is just your first major, how do you find your second major standings?1/9/2007 2:29:36 PM |

^ I asked that a couple of years ago and I don't remember ever really getting a good answer. I'd shoot a PM to firegrl23 and see what she has to say. Also have to consider triple-majors, dropped majors, etc. with this as well. (From a low-level technical standpoint, probably not hard to implement. From a systems point of view, probably a pain in the butt).

It depends. Most of them will be more interested in an official transcript detailing your overall GPA, general coursework, and grades in specific courses they know are related to the job. In most situations, references, letters of recommendation, and/or test scores will do more for you than class rank will. Its too subjective to interpret correctly per each individual candidate.1/9/2007 8:18:03 PM |

Does class rank go by weighted or unweighted GPA? 1/9/2007 10:14:47 PM |
The Coz Tempus Fugitive 26098 Posts user info edit post |
This isn't high school. It goes by your N.C. State GPA. I assume you're referrring to +/- grading. You can earn up to a 4.33 for an A+, but overall GPA is capped at 4.00. If you maintain a 4.0, all of your class ranks are #1. 1/10/2007 2:19:08 AM |
firegrl23 Veteran 487 Posts user info edit post |
yes that means you are #1 ... but there could be 10 #1s.
just like we typically have 50 or so valedictorians. 1/10/2007 6:40:20 AM |

im not totally sure about this, but right now in my dept. (statistics) i have a 4.00 (i had an A+ and an A for my grades in statistics) and im number 2 in my class for statistics...so does having an A instead of an A+ but still a 4.00 put me behind someone? 1/10/2007 11:57:05 AM |

okay, here's another question
i have a grade that is LA and should be coming up within the next week or two
does the class rank update throughout the semester, or is it just once at the end of every semester? 1/10/2007 8:04:04 PM |
The Coz Tempus Fugitive 26098 Posts user info edit post |
^^Do you have a 4.0 overall, though? Don't round up, either. Departmental rank is not restricted to your grades within that department. You may have a 4.0 average in statistics courses, but if you have a 3.99 overall GPA, you would be #2 in the department (or lower, depending on the number with 4.0's). 1/10/2007 9:18:38 PM |
