I would if it wasn't on such a weird time for me. Looks like an interesting show though.

i've watched the fansubs for the past 2 years, until the filler started last spring, haven't watched since but supposedly the filler ends in a week so i'll probably pick back up the series at episode 109 i believe. the dub is pretty bad, voices just sound all wrong. but its often the case that if you hear the japanese first you think the dubs are usually horrible, but if you hear the dub first and then the japanese version the dubs are usually ok (some dubs are horrible no matter what, like the evangelion dub). the manga is pretty decent, but still typical shonen jump anime style, powerups and ever more powerful baddies. the soul society arc takes up the bulk of the show, followed by the bounto filler arc which is around 40 episodes

*shrug*

Saw the marathon that was on the other night and watched the first 10 or 11 episodes. I thought it was pretty good, but I don't usually watch stuff like this.

I tried to watch the fan subs at one point didn't make it more than a couple episodes. My girlfriend keeps up with it pretty good, even watching all the filler

you really have to get to the second story arc before it gets prettty good, and the dub is pretty lousy the voice actors want to put more accent on the syllables than the original japanese

all in all I think the character personalities are a little more believable (considering the genre) than usual and its got a nice sense of style and lot better pacing than something like dbz

I thought Bleach was a little boring and preachy the first time I watched the show. There was too much Japanese mythology for my tastes. When they introduced Kon, I warmed up to the show, but I still wasn't fully committed until Renji was introduced around episode 15.

That being said, I actually like the dubs of the first 10 episodes more then the subs. That opinion will probably change when the show gets into the 2nd arc.

Actually, you're right. Shonen Jump is designed for teenage boys. The problem is that the good shows last years and years. One Piece has been in manga since '97, and anime since '99, and is still going strong. Naruto started it's manga run in '99 and the anime run in '02. The good shonen jump series have to mature with their audiences in order to stay fresh, or they'll stagnate. I think Naruto has succeeded with it's 3 year timeskip, One Piece has succeeded with it's intense Enies Lobby story arc, and Bleach grows up around episode 25.

Thus, the reason people really like some of these Shonen Animes isn't because of the first episode, but of something awsome that happens around episode 50 or 100. It's kind of like reading a book.

Bleach doesn't take off until like episode 15. In fact I thought it was just another "look at me I'm a chick with big eyes and I'm stupid" anime. Then I skipped ahead to 15 (watching the japanese version with subs) and from there it takes off.

To make things worse they add in "filler" episodes which are just plain stupid crap. The series wouldn't be affected without them. Trust me you'll know.

Bleach is like on 80 something now I think. Well worth it at this point. Kinda like Naruto as long as you don't watch the American version. Jesus christ I don't think a cat in a blender makes a more horrible noise than those voice actors.
