Sunday January 14
4:30 EST on CBS

vs.

Should be a good game. Hopefully Rivers can get back to his early season self. Probably the most intriguing match up is the coaches Bill "Mr. Playoff" Belichick vs. Marty "not Mr. Playoff" Schottenheimer.

I don't know which way to go. I'll never bet against Brady but all logic says the Chargers SHOULD win it..

Since all logic says the Chargers should in I'm going to say 31-27 Patriots.

This is definitely the Chargers' toughest game since the Baltimore loss. If Merriman can get pressure on Brady, the Chargers win. If the Patriots Oline gives Brady all day to throw like today, the Patriots win.

Pats 27 Chargers 24

Hope I'm wrong.

the Jets HORRIBLE o-line made the Patriots' defense look like the '85 Bears

i think the Chargers will bring them back down to earth

Philip - to the title game
Brady - to the golf course

Early line Chargers favored by 4.5

What a joke.

Pats straight up is a good bet and Pats +4.5 is an amazing bet.

This one rests solely on the reliability of Merriman's dealer.

Oh, and whether Rivers gets his Diet Pepsi or not.

^^ did you even watch the game Tim? The Jets moved the ball on them all day long. Just couldn't finish drives, which is a recurring theme with Pennington.

I say the Patriots will win a close one but I hope I'm wrong. I'll be a Chargers fan for this one...

most of it. i saw Chad throw for 300+

but I also saw very little accomplished on the ground or on screens

and that doesn't cut it against the worst Pats defense in years (and without Harrison)

thats where I think the CHargers will succeed

You gotta remember this is Philips first big game since high school.

He's never played in a "big" game in college or the NFL so you don't know how he's gonna respond to the pressure.

You've also got to consider that the Pats will come out loose and the Chargers will be tight after the bye week.

Tomlinson has a lot of mileage on his legs and you can bet the Pats are gonna focus on him.

No one disguises their defenses better than the Patriots, i just dont think Philip is gonna play well enough for them to win by 4.5 even if they manage to sneak out with a win.

It doesnt help that Marty Schott is a horrible playoff coach.

I would argue that Phil vs. OSU in 03' was a big game for him, even though it wasn't a bowl or had any big implications riding on it, and I do remember him dropping over 400 yards on them.

The big test for the Phil. this game will be how well his o-line holds up to the Pat's blitz packages. Hopefully, they can run some quick outs or disguise their offense with LT in the backfield and open up the passing game. He doesn't need another horrid game like he had against KC for the Chargers to win this one.

Only "big" game since high school for Phil?

Umm, the Gator Bowl vs. Notre Dame was a pretty big game last I checked...and also the OSU game and all the FSU games were pretty "big" games. Or his Senior Bowl, where he was pretty much the best player in the country.

I mean, you could say he hasn't been under this kind of pressure his whole life, sure...but to say he never played a big game in college?

RallyDurham must be trolling if he thinks that the pressure is gonna get to Rivers. Don't be retarded, Rivers doesn't get nervous under pressure. He usually saves his best performances for big games.

Tomlinson has "a lot of mileage on his legs"? What the fuck are you talking about? He's a 6th year pro who rarely ever takes a big hit. He is healthier now than he has ever been at the end of a season, and he is playing better than any other RB in the game right now.

If you want to talk about SD's weaknesses, talk about their secondary, or maybe the coaching. Don't bring up Rivers and Tomlinson. You just look stupid.

It did really well. They almost pulled it off. I won the +5.5 so i broke even. A couple plays swing the other way and i win huge.

I get the feeling im never gonna hear the end of this if the Chargers win. They are pretty big favorites pregame just remember that. I'm teh one going out on a limb by taking the 2:1 underdogs.

Go Pats and go Pats +4.5

Should be an awesome game. Whoever wins this game has a great chance to win the Super Bowl....
