2002 acura tl type S

i have taken the lug nuts off (duh) but neither of the front wheels will come off so that i can replace the brake pads.

without seeing my car, care to guess whats up? is the wheel some how locked/stuck? after 2 hours, i still cant get it off. i cant imagine if i had a flat in the middle of nowhere.

none of my other vehicles were this much trouble getting a tire off.

i think you should let the air out of your tire before you try removing it. otherwise you might have a bit of trouble on your hands

You need to give that wheel a swift kick. No, I'm not kidding. I usually either kick the shit out of it (making goddamn sure that it won't fall off the jack BEFORE I kick) or whack the tire with a rubber mallet.

Most Jap wheels fit really good on the hub (hub-centric, if you will), and it's that nice tight fit, coupled with dirt and possibly corrosion, that makes the motherfucker so hard to remove. Sometimes it takes a bit of brute force.

you see if you had a flat in the middle of nowhere and spent a couple hours trying to remove it you would have already kicked the shit out it.

Kick in on it. At the edge of the tire. Hard.

If you have all of the lug nuts off and it still hasn't come loose, you're not kicking hard enough.

Seriously.

loosen up the lug nuts but leave them on. Drive car around really slowly. Stomp brakes. Thats how I got a ford rim off a dodge once. Spent an hour beating it with a sledge and it wouldn't budge, so I did that. Popped off in about 5 minutes

if you have to post about why your wheel wont come off just leave the lug nuts off and drive it to a j-team member. one of them can break it loose for you

I hope you cleaned the hub well and put some grease or anti-seize compound on it or your just setting yourself up to have this happen again.

whoever removed your wheels previously might have overtorqued or you just got salt/what others have said.

though i've never had that issue, ever.

I hadn't ever had this issue either, but it happened to my 03 2500hd, I beleive on the rear wheels. I had to kick the ever loving shit out of them to get them off.

I'll either give it a good kick or two on the outside edge, OR hit it once or twice on the inside with a rubber mallet.

i had to jack the whole front end of my tacoma up and wedge something between the wheel and frame and then let the power steering pump do all the work
