yeah so steve blake is DEFINITELY not worth Boykins and Hodge

Boykins has averaged over 20 ppg over his last ten or so... unless this is just clearing cap room, i really don't get it

its partially for cap room

also the bucks have a lot of injuries and need some players...boykins has been terrific this season but doesnt stand to see much action once Melo returns now that JR Smith is back and they have Iverson

i appreciate this thread.

i hate looking at long ass threads

..........................................................................................

wow, didn't see this one coming. Lil Earl was droppin like 20-25 a game over the past 2 weeks. i'm surprised they wanted to let him go. not too surprised about getting rid of Jules though. they already said they had no intention of keeping him past this season anyhow, so this was the perfect way to dump him.

** WTF, i didn't read the link. i thought Blake was part of the package. the Niggets are getting ripped in this deal. 15-per Earl + Hodge + cash is a horrible price to pay for Blake

Not a bad deal for the Nuggets as you are all making it out to be.

They'll have Melo, Smith, AI, and DeMarr Johnson when the suspensions are over. Boykins and Hodge are two more SGs that they don't need. There also isn't a PG in that bunch either. Blake will be the pass first guard that they desperately need with AI, Melo, and Smith on the team.

And they free up some cap room. Pretty good deal for both team IMO.

This isnt a bad deal for the Nuggets.

They had been showcasing Hodge recently so they could get rid of him.

Boykins is not popular with his teammates, they dont like his shot selection. And with Iverson there they really dont have a need for another little guard because Iverson can play nearly 48 minutes anyway.

Boykins doesnt bring much to the table except scoring (he's not much of a passer) and thats something they certainly aren't gonna need with Iverson/Melo/JR Smith...

Steve Blake is pretty overrated though, he's having an awful season so far. Even still the Nuggets are just trying to put a playoff roster together and Blake can at least contribute for them...

I don't know why...he shoots a great percentage for a perimeter player

I agree with everything else though

I think this trade is great for Blake's career - if he cannot put up decent assist stats with the Nuggets, then he should just retire.

if Bob Johnson keeps losing money (and the team keeps losing games) they will sign NCSU, Duke, Wake, UNCC...whatever players get butts in the seats

Associated Press

MILWAUKEE -- The Milwaukee Bucks waived forward Julius Hodge and recalled forward Damir Markota from the NBA Development League on Wednesday.

Hodge was obtained with Earl Boykins in the Jan. 11 trade that sent Steve Blake to the Denver Nuggets.

Markota was sent to Tulsa on Feb. 1 and is expected to rejoin the Bucks for their game in Oklahoma City on Thursday night against the Hornets. "
