for those of you who have ever played basketball seriously or keep up with it and are somewhat versed in your hoops knowledge...have you ever heard anyone refer to a "fader" - if so, i'd like to hear about it. i've heard "fade out" and "fade away" and even "mj" since it was his patented shot, but i have never heard of "fader." i'm wondering regardless of what the commercial says, but to me it does sound like "fade out"

Can't find the commercial anywhere, now I want to look at it again, because I've had this argument before with suitemates and thats what made me think 'fade out'. Originally I argued fadaaa but hearing it once since then I'm not so sure.

"fader" is fine with me (even though i hear fade out ), but in 18 years of competitive basketball i have never heard "fader" used on or off the court...i was surprised i couldn't find the video online regardless though

i have watched approximately 1000 basketball games on television (NBA, NCAA, and international) and i have never once heard a member of a broadcast team use the term "fade out" in reference to a fade away shot.

he yells fader, sounds like 'fayda' which is a term used to describe the fade away shot where your body fades away from the defender and goal while shooting the basketball.
