the only bar in burlington thats close to being "good" is hams on church street

[Edited on January 17, 2007 at 10:32 PM. Reason : and like highschool cliques still go there, so it is pretty gay]

The Back Door in Graham.

Actually I have no idea. There's a Hooters there though...

Oh wait. There's Piedmont Ale House on St Marks Church Rd outside of Elon. It's new.

the only good bar in Burlington is a hard, iron one...

to hit yourself in the face with after you realized you moved somewhere so lame and unfullfilling

ham's is awful.

west end is good, then there is bogey's which isn't bad if you have a group of folks and go in the spring or summer (they have a volleyball court) and then there is a place called the ale house or carolina alehouse or something like that that is located off of church street in west burlington (it's near a credit union, i can't remember much more).

that's the best i can do for ya right now.

^^^^^^ I didn't move here for a crazy college atmosphere, I moved because of a job, and I wanted to be near Mebane and near Greensboro, and Burlington is pretty much half way

Suggest having a drink at Kimbers in Gibsonville, which is a mile or two from Elon. Get a Teresa Special and tell her hi for me.

Well at least you'll be able to enjoy the chicks up around elon. Snobby rich girls yeah, but at least a few of em need the happy stick.

As an alum, y'all are spot-on about the amount of out-of-staters at Elon. However, it was always a good time telling those yankees to STFU.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAAAHAHAHAAHAHAHSAHSAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH

put it this way...hams might not be the best bar, but burlington isnt known for their bars, and thats the only one i've gone to...and it was pretty shitty- it was just like being at hs and you see all the losers you had to see in hs again

Hams is a good cheap restaurant, decent bar i suppose. Kimbers is terrible, and gibsonville is even worse than burlington. I would suggest going to Greensboro probably, only about a 15 minute drive. i've lived in Burlington my whole life and still haven't found anything exciting to do there. Don't get me wrong, its a great place to live, just nothing to do.

Actually just met up with a few friends and down by the west end, the Piedmont Ale House is an actual bar w the usual sandwiches and food at lunch/dinner, seems nice for a burlington setup.

I lived in Graham (right outside of Burlington) for a year after college (due to a job). Thank God I got laid off and got to move back to Charlotte for another job. Honestly, the best bar I found was a Drive-Thru convenience store across from my apartment. Pick up a 12 pack and head back to the apartment.

Maybe brewballs?

Yeah, we went to west end, and it wasn't that great. We had a good time, but there was no liquor (just beer), and there was a big screen tv in the back that a bunch of kids had brought guitar hero and were playing

We only stayed for about 1.5 hours, then headed back to my place where the real drinks were waiting

The town (of Elon) doesn't allow liquor sales, hence the suggestion to go to Kimbers in Gibbyville. The students are likelyt on january term break, so the place was likely desolate.
