Twisted Fork at Triangle Town Center has really good ribs - you can pick pork, beef, or lamb and 6 different sauces. Mondays are all-you-can eat ribs, plus soup and salad, for $15.99

Fox and Hound at North Hills are pretty good too

Are they still in buisness? Their ribs were great, but the sauce (imo) was way too sweet

Both O'Brian's restaurants in Raleigh have closed down. The one in Durham near 40 and 55 may still be around. And yes, their ribs were/are awesome.

I also suprisingly liked the dry rub Ruby Tuesday's had before they fucked over their whol menu. Not sure if they serve tem anymore since you can't put them on a bun.

i'm telling y'all, ribs are super easy to do at home on just about any type of grill. you can get 3 racks already trimmed to st. louis at costco for cheap. babybacks are only like $.20/lb more. throw on whatever rub you want and cook them indirect until they pass the bend test. then you get to sit around and drink beer while they cook.

not to mention that most of the restaurants mentioned in this thread are just opening packs of cooked, sauced, and frozen ribs from who-knows-where and heating them up. if that's all you want, then they have them in the freezer section at the store.

Aviator's in Fuquay are smoked and grilled. Plus their beer is pretty good. I'm pretty upset that I can't even walk in there (or drink beer for that matter). When I loved meat, I loved their wings most of all, and I'm not a wing person at all.
I'm just not too thrilled about their service.
The brewery and bar is on the other side of the street. Its nice to hang out on a summer evening too.

I've been to a Shane's Rib Shack in Greensboro. I was definitely not impressed. It's fast food quality, so if that's what you're looking for then give it a shot.

Last couple times I ate at Oldey Time I wasn't impressed with any of it. I usually just go to Cooper's or The Pit instead.
