Carried over from this thread (older than 90 days): http://www.thewolfweb.com/message_topic.aspx?topic=424350
I finished construction, and mocked everything up. Once I started putting it together I got a pleasant surprise. There is enough room to step the shelves. I will try and glue it all together over the next couple of days. Then it is off to get covered in the nicest pleather I can find.
The kenwood amp in the middle is going to be the 300/2. I just needed something there to fill the whole while looking at it.
Comments are welcome. The retail value of the equipment going in this box is $3250.
What will be taking up my trunk space till then here: Elemental Designs 15'' with dual bandpass box. Exterior dimensions of 37.5x18.5x19.75 Chamber one 3.5 cu.ft w/ 1x15x15 slot port tuned to 25 hz Chamber two 2.5 cu.ft w/ 2x15x6 slot port tuned to 55 hz

The JL setup will have: 1000/1 -sub amp 300/2- front component amp 250/1- sub amp e2150- rear coax amp 12w7 8w7 ADS 346cs Kicker crossover for subs RF 1 farad cap
The headunit is going to be an Alpine IWA-W200. 6.5'' touch screen double din.
The EDesign sub is in a total of 6 cu.ft. It is almost the entire trunk.

The JL setup is purely for personal use, and to promote my stereo business when asked about the install.
The ED setup is just to be stupid loud for a couple of weeks till I get the JL stuff ready. I don't really compete with it. Last year I hit 142db with the 12W7 in a sealed box though. 1/22/2007 6:00:28 PM |

hmm.... hopefully this project doesn't go up in flames
also i'm wondering what you've done on the 12w7 side... is that double layer?
i see there is no re-enforcement on the inside at least not yet.

sumfoo1- There isn't any reinforcement on the side. The inside wall with be reinforced by the amp rack, and the outer side will just be as is. I'm sure there will be a little flexing, but shouldn't be too bad. It is only 19'' at the deepest.
BBR- the maxima is still waiting for working injectors. The last set I bought all arrived broken. 1/22/2007 6:19:08 PM |

I may add some interior bracing to the outer wall, but I need to keep all the volume possible. The bracing in that 6'' enclosure may be to stop standing waves in a rectangle box. 1/22/2007 7:47:14 PM |

It is a real nice pleather. No, I did not add any bracing. Honestly, I'm not too worried about box flex, I'm not going to really have it that loud. I just like having the ability. 2/10/2007 6:54:30 PM |

It would take about 30 minutes to take out, and that is with cutting wires. 2/11/2007 1:58:17 PM |
