that thread, entitled "DC Updates" would actually be for people who transplanted to the DC metro area following their introduction to this messageboard/time at NCSU
what I am looking for, is someone (most likely a male) who grew up around the area that would probably know the area much better than someone who just moved up here within the last couple years (like myself) who would know of a good hole in the wall type barbershop
why dont you eat a bowl of dicks and go flex those e-muscles somewhere else guy 1/29/2007 1:01:49 PM |

I could give you a barber shop, but I'm guessing you aren't really interested in the entire "DC metro area"? Do you really want to drive across one of the biggest/most populated/traffic-choked regions in the country for a basic haircut?
What if I posted "anyone know of a place to buy shoes in North Carolina?"

if its a good enough barbershop, i'll drive pretty much anywhere in Northern VA, DC or the beltway towns around maryland (i am situated near all the major highways/freeways and know my way around pretty well navigationwise
im talking a quintessential barbershop with a ~12-20 haircut without tip
you'd be suprised how hard this is to come by

not really the same, as again I can get to pretty much anywhere in the district or outlying areas within 20-30 mins tops, if not quicker, on a weekend day, which is when I would have time to go

i always thought that was left to the common user

posting isn't a part of a moderator's duties at all - i'm not sure where you got that idea from - i'm posting here as a user - if i were to move this to the trash bin - that'd be a moderator duty
is that something you'd be interested in 1/29/2007 2:41:08 PM |

you're essentially deviating from your own unwritten guidance by not keeping responses within the realm of the subject matter, as you so often do with the passion of an overzealous school crossing guard witha bright shiny new sash, your lack of a response to my clarification of why the thread should be seperate from the DC Updates thread indicates your concession to the matter, so it doesnt merit your unhelpful comments, but being that youre a huge douchebag, it's expected i guess 1/29/2007 2:49:39 PM |

You defy the space-time continuum.
This guy could use you as a clock operator.
To answer your question, I go to "Tuffy's", a barber shop in Leesburg on my lunch hour. It's decent, reasonably priced, and convenient...pretty much my criteria for a barber shop.

thanks, leesburg is a little bit outside the radius i would consider, but again if it's a good solid place, for me it's worth the trip
ill look into it, thanks! 1/29/2007 3:06:51 PM |

joenumbers if you lived in a place that made it very difficult to find a real deal hair waxing joint, you'd understand what im talking about
all i want is a real barbershop....leather chairs....one shitty tv playing whatever game is on...old playboys...and a moderately priced haircut and straight razor neck shave

^ well, i gotta say, theres a lot of barbershops like that around where i live. it actually does have playboy magazines (among others) in the stacks.
and i can take my dog with me when i get a haircut and she hangs out inside the barbershop.
its pretty cool, and i sure wouldnt go to some stupid chain supercuts or whatever.
but would I drive across metro DC for it?
hmm.
maybe. 1/29/2007 10:15:29 PM |

I was driving and for some reason thought of this thread. I saw a shop in Gtown @ Wisconsin and P. I have not been there but relying on the high number of white ppl in GTown i'd say its a white barber shop.

haha, man you know how gay everything is up here on the sly
they probably give happy endings in the massage rooms, all male staff
thats hilarious i didnt even read the main page, so i didnt even see that, but it wouldnt stop me from going there and getting a haircut and straight razor shave and acting naively hetero 1/30/2007 12:30:42 PM |

I bet it's a guy that does the waxing at this place. No way in hell I'd go, for I'd be afraid I'd pop an accidental stiffy while he was fondling around my balls and anus. 1/30/2007 7:20:51 PM |

he probably looks like this
and instead of wax he does it the old timey way
the pepperidge farm way
straight razor across the ball sack as if it were a leather strap
