I'm considering getting a set of these for my shitter civic, but Exospeed.com states that these wheels are "not for street use" (as this car will never see any track). after numerous searches I still cannot find the reason why. Is it merely some type of DOT (or other agency) approval that is lacking? or does it have to do with the physical strength of the wheel?

just a disclaimer most likely. or, to keep weight down they may actually not be up to the rigors of street driving structurally. 1/30/2007 1:39:11 PM |

oh fuck that, ill go back to the stock 13" steelies before that. unfortunately, (as many think), I am running a set of axis (or lenso) maglites's right now. the ride harshness associated with 205/40's isnt all that great to put up withanymore.
and btw garage peops - go buy a 6 of Saranac Black Diamond Bock, shti is good. 1/31/2007 10:33:26 PM |

ehe i knows... if anything, its 205/60s. but who knows, the $$ is tight, so ill probably end up just replacing the 205/40-17s.... altho i do still have a set of 205/60-13s on some black steelies in the barn 1/31/2007 11:35:31 PM |

I dunno about 245/50-13, I've got a set of 215/50-13 Sumitomo HTR-200 on there now, the widest street tire I'm aware of in that diameter. At 245/50-13 your options are probably Hoosiers and similar tires that aren't economical for street driving under any stretch of the imagination 2/1/2007 8:56:29 AM |

yeah, i just happened to see a pair of these MT's and got the idea for fatties: http://tinyurl.com/ywpbzp (long link sux)
my vote is still for the 205/60's (215/50's are 2" shorter than my 205/40-17s)

but http://www.tinyurl.com fixes that!
