i actually dozed off for a moment in the 3rd quarter. Even most of the commercials sucked too.

the unbelievably fantastic
no "this is our country"!!!

the good
prince
the snickers commercial
k-fed's commercial
most of the bud commericals
hester's opening kick return for the td, which i (and probably millions of others) called.
the nfl contest winner's commercial: end of season, "hard to let go", brett favre.
careerbuilder.com commercials

the bad
billy joel
the game
peyton getting mvp
most of the commercials (being that it was the superbowl, and advertisers paid $2.6 million for 30 seconds).

the ugly
pre-game show
rex grossman
lovie smith for being a stubborn motherfucker and letting 1 dumbfuck to ruin everyone's opportunity for a superbowl victory.

There was no chance of Griese playing. You play a guy all season, you play him in the super bowl, even if he is Rex Grossman.

I liked the Bud commercial with Rock-Paper-Scissors, it made me fall out of my seat laughing

First quarter was fun to watch, then after that it just kinda sucked. Though I might be a bit bias

D was tired because the offense couldn't move the ball.. so yea.. Grossman lost the game for the Bears

the bears D let too many sustained drives happen, that drive in the 3rd quarter that went halfway though was what killed the game.

also, no player really cares about the vince lombardi trophy. it's not the greatest trophy in sports. that would be the stanley cup.

bad tackling in the second quarter has nothing to do with the offense in my opinion.

by the third and fourth, yeah it explains a few of those drives. but seriously, there were probably 15 plays that went for 8-15 yards that should have gone for 2 or less

To post the same thing here as I did on the PP thread:

I agree except Peyton getting MVP. He wasn't as important as the running game, but since it was pretty split, neither of the RB's were as important as Peyton.

If one RB had done most of the legwork, I give it to him, or if you could give it to the offensive line, I would. But since they didn't, and you can't, I give it to Peyton.

Also, I don't think any QB on the Bears would have done any better.

what? the bitch threw 2 awful interceptions. he would've had 3 had the safety not let the ball bounce off his helmet. i pointed out to my sister on that throw that grossman lofted the ball way too high, and that gave the safety time to get over and cover. then, it actually bit him on the ass on his second pick (which was just 3 plays after his 1st one).

and those fumbled snaps... fucking christ, son! taking unnecessary sacks. overthrows. bad reads...

this is the superbowl, and he wasn't even playing medicore. the bears should've won.

That was pretty funny.

It was the first time all season i watched an entire NFL game lacking a peyton commercial....it felt empty

That was my best as well.

The Sierra Mist commercial with the beard combover and hotpants was kinda funny. I also liked the Doritos one at the grocery checkout.

I think the whole Super Bowl commercial thing is pretty near jumping the shark though. The only companies that are bringing it every year are Budweiser and Bud Light. This year the Coca-Cola commercials were pretty good and Doritos did a new thing with home-created ones, but the rest were just flat. Also, I know it's CBS and they want to show their new sitcom lineup, but once a game is enough, not four times to see what David Spade is doing now.

Worst commercial was all the naked men washing themselves off in front of a Chevy.

Prince was surprisingly decent. A lot better than the Rolling Stones did.

As far as Rain Bowl, I instantly thought back to Ohio State-Florida with the opening kickoff. It was a very intense first quarter that was pretty weird, but once the Colts took the lead, I couldn't remember anything of substance the Bears did. Their defense was impotent. And I know it rained but geez, EIGHT TURNOVERS!

it's cool the local Doritos (the car crash one) commercial won the contest, also making them the first to air Superbowl commercial made by fans.

I didn't like the halftime show all that much.. the fireworks were overdone, and the setlist was mostly covers..

yup. that one about the online selling shit site was like a 4am infomercial. terrible.

the only one that actually made me laugh was letterman and oprah, but for that one you have to watch letterman... and it wasn't even really a commercial.

Wow, its pretty clear they lost the game because rex grossman sucked donkey balls. They are playing the colts in the superbowl. The defense is not going to perform like they are playing the fucking Raiders.

Was a pretty good game, the ass kicking part made it a little boring but the Hester runback made it seem closer than it was

Quote :

hahahahah, why? they did everything but run kicks back worse than the Colts... aside from that they got dominated in every way

Tyrone, you have said alot of stupid things in the past but "the Bears should have won" may be the stupidest statement ever. You sir are a fucking retard. The Colts killed the Bears, if it wasn't for the opening kickoff return, the game would have been a complete blow out.

Grossman = Loser
Manning = A class act and a true winner (Might not of deserved mvp though)

I'd say all of the commercials. If you were watching the Super Bowl for the commercials this year I don't see how you can't come away disappointed. 20% were commercials you've already seen, 40% were ones that simply advertised other shows CBS wants you to watch, and the other 20% were new commercials. Heck, even half of the new ones fall into the category of ones you've already seen thanks to shows that have hyped up how awesome the commercials were going to be.

Perhaps the best commercial was the one with minority children aglow with excitement of a hopeful new future seated next to their sobbing grandfathers that have persevered through untold oppression to finally see the glorious day... when two black dudes could coach a Super Bowl.

/not racist

I thought it was a good game, at least it wasnt a blowout

also, I thought that Peyton was very deserving of the MVP, he picked apart the Bears defense better than any player all season

but then again I hate the Bears
