i am not advocating sidney lowe as the coach of the year

however, all year adam gold has said if lowe wins five acc games, he'd vote for lowe

we have three wins now and have a good chance at beating wake and miami (and carolina again )

and there aren't any clear cut favorites unless bc, unc, or uva were to run the table

so what do you think, does five or six wins get make lowe the coach of the year?

id think oliver purnell (sp?) is at the top of the list. if coach k goes on to win the acc he may get some consideration due to the lack of talent he has this year.

lol. I assume this is a joke... though I guess only having 6 McD's AA's can be considered tough..

I'd go with Leitao in a heartbeat if things keep up..

yeah, i should have said "lack of experience and leadership" rather then lack of talent.

I would have said purnell a few weeks ago, but now they've lost 5 out of their last 6.

If the season ended now, I'd have to give it to Al Skinner, as much as I hate BCU.

Leitao is also up there.

I'd put lowe at third right now

It's still way too early to tell.

If BC ends up in the top 3, there'd be a legitimate argument for Skinner. If Clemson doesn't completely collapse and manages to finish strong, Purnell could be it. If State comes on strong with Atsur back, then Lowe may deserve it.

Still a lot of games left to be played.

i wouldnt go with leitao just yet... i mean he has a LOT of talent on that team... definitely not coach k... if BC finishes strong I'd say skinner because of the adjustments he makes after losing his 2 players... no not purnell, hes done...

if state finishes strong (only a loss to unc and maybe another random loss), i would go with sidney for sure..

He beat #3 UNC.

He gets game of the year in my book.

I wonder how much affect getting robbed at Duke has had on Clemson.

Clemson's repeating what they've done the last few years...start off with an inflated record and then crash in league play.

if State wins 8 or more games in conference, its Lowe hands down. I'm not expecting that at all

I'd say state can pull off 5 or 6 more wins. look at who's left on the schedule. but I'd say 4 more is realistic.

Lowe gets my vote though...we here at ncsu love to skew polls in our favor.

I could see us finishing out anywhere from 7-1 to 1-7, just depending on health, energy, and nightly effort.

Taken individually, there's no reason we can't win any of the remaining games. Translating that into an actual string of wins takes a lot more, though.

IMO best case senario is 5-3 and worst is 3-5.

I think 8-8 would win it for Sid

To be #1 (tied i know) in the ACC is absolutely amazing for UVA so Dave Leitao is my vote.

Adam Gold is a bald, pink shirt wearing blowtoad for the most-part. If he actually supports that claim after we win 5 games I will be shocked.

Ya gotta think Al Skinner right now, but what about FSU (Dont even know the name of their coach)? They are having a very surprising season and no one saw that coming at all.....

to predict us to go 8-8 while sitting at 3-5 means we would have to win out at home whihc would be incredibly hard to do and beat two of these five on the road: G Tech, Miami,UNC , FSU, and MAryland. I wouldn't count on it to say the least, but if Sid goes 8-8, there shouldn't even be a debate, they should fax it to him the night we beat marylnad in College Park.

wahoowa picking Leito, I'm stunned

Skinner right now for me

1) Leitao
2) Greenberg
3) Skinner
4) Lowe
5) Purnell

That's my list right now.

greenberg doesn't make sense on that list after getting pounded by BC and losing to the last place team in the conference.

i agree with you, but shouldn't coach K provide enough experience and leadership? i mean if having players with more experience and leadership is the difference between having a "normal" duke season and a "sub-par" duke season, then i can't agree that he should get coach of the year this time around.

that being said with all due respect to coach K, of course.
