Ok, I have a Sony Vaio PCV-RS410 and im trying to modify it..

increase RAM, Storage memory, etc.....


Im at a complete loss and would greatly appreciate your help

What kind of computer is this(Desktop/Laptop?) and what degree of upgrading are you looking to do?

btw, More often than not, these days it's just as cheap to buy/build a new computer that can kick the old one's ass.

1) Press Windows Key + R.
2) Type msinfo32 in the Open box and press enter.
3) In the System Information window that opens, select File->Export. This will ask you to save a text file. Type in a filename and click OK. It may take a minute or two to finish.
4) Open the text file that you saved. Find the following sections in the file and paste the contents of the section into a reply post:

[System Summary]
[Display]
[Disks] <-- Don't copy the Not Available stuff

Some of these sections are buried, so it's probably easier to use find to find the sections.

Now people will know what you have. And, since you're female, TechTalk prowlers will stumble all over themselves to show you their 1337 skillz.

you would probably be better off getting a new one from dell or something, to "add more memory to your C: drive" will entail a harddrive replacement ( 250-320 gig range) and a reinstall of windows, which will be a pain since I don't think you have a standalone windows XP disc, upgrading memory is easy, just find out what type and speed of RAM that you have (hopefully it's DDR something.... and not RDRAM) and you can go to Best Buy or http://www.newegg.com and order something that has more of it...


i really do think you would be better suited just getting another computer as the effort and parts to upgrade this one will come close to the price of a new one from dell.... and you can get them to add more memory than the default amount too (i'm pretty sure, i don't use dell much)

^^ the last seagate hdd I bought came with a cloneing tool and a color picture walkthough of how to change the jumpers and insert the drive, so it wouldnt be that hard. I'd sugguest a seagate hdd anyways, I've always had good luck with them and most come with a 5 year warrenty
