Scored 9 points in 9 minutes played at one point.

Talking about Beidrins or whatever his name is getting rebounds; "He gets his hands on a lot of balls."

I'm a fan of anyone who comes out the NC State programs...BUT, I don't really consider him that successful in the NBA.

Being traded all the time, coming off the bench for a mediocre team to play 12 min. a night at best. All I'm saying is that he could have used more time in college to develop his game and Herb is a big reason why he jumped ship early.

you dumb motherfucker

the reason he jumped ship is because he got really hot toward the end of his soph season and in the ACC Tourney. the draft pool for forwards was shallow that year and he got some bad advice that he'd get drafted early based on potential.

if anything I think Herb helped him by teaching him how to play solid D. if anybody watched the game last night, you saw him playing solid D on Ben Wallace and the big white dude during Josh's limited play

tke, it's amazing how defensive you are with Herb.

If anyone even gets near your man-crush Herbie you have a fuck chicken. Did you put it tween' the Herbster's buttcheeks while he was here?

^^^he went undrafted. he wasn't good enough to make the NBA coming off that "really hot" streak. obviously he got bad advice, but if he had been in love with herb the way you seem to be, he probably would have stayed at least another year.

Powell stated several times in interviews that he didn't get enough touches in the offense and that Hodge was given the star treatment by Herb.

There were also rumors that Powell could not have come back as a Junior even if he tried, because of some NCAA violations.

i beg of you, find me something other than "I heard he didn't like his role at State or his coach"

Quote :
"Powell says he entered N.C. State with an open mind, but he never felt like the program had its priorities in order. Though Powell never mentioned the player by name, it seemed to him that the team was catering to blue-chipper Julius Hodge, and Powell was taking the lumps that came with it.

‘’Say you have a big-name player, and at the school it’s all about this guy, but you’ve got other players with potential, or even what they already do is more productive,'’ Powell said. ‘We just had a lot of stuff going on with the team internally that wasn’t positive for us. At one point in time I was about to say, `I don’t want to play basketball anymore.’ And I knew I shouldn’t be feeling like this.'’"

^^how bout that? If that quote doesn't say both of those things, then I'll be damned. once again, "JP" shoulda stayed another year and herb/his "system" were big reasons why he didn't.

I would have loved to have seen that team play something other than a princeton offense. There was alot of talent and chemistry that probably got squandered under herb's command.
