im trying to figure out how to keep from having to click my icon after i power up my computer

i only have one user so its pointless for me to wait to select one

i just want to press power and walk away

what i does

Start > Settings > Control Panel > User Accounts > Change the way users logon/logoff

Download Tweak UI.

It has an option to automatically sign in even if you have a password set.

disable the welcome screen from there, then download tweakui, set the autologin option to your account and password.
