Hey, I need some suggestions of good songs for guitar in Open E using a slide.

other than "Red Rain" by the White Stripes and "In My Time of Dying" by, well, you know.

Don't know too much in E, but if you don't mind playing around in G......

Can't be satisfied (muddy waters) is a great slide tune.

also, a whole lot of stones stuff is in open G:

honky tonk woman, brown suger, tumbling dice, happy, start me up, you got the silver

etc.

BTW,

the chords and scales are the same for tuning up to an A or tuning down to a G.

"Mean town blues" by Johnny Winter is a good open A tune.
there are examples on youtube.

I've got a 12 string that I tune down to G so I can play
"Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring" on it. The guitar exists solely for that tune.

Duane Allman, the best slide player in history, used open E. Statesboro Blues for example.....
No one, including Derrick Trucks, can get the sound and tone Duane got out of a slide guitar.

An assload of blues is in G and open E. Robert Johnson had some retarded tunings based off E.
