Anyone know of any dealers that offer on-site financing?
Looking for a $1500-2000 car.
I know there used to exist some where they offer cheap cars with a $75/week payment.
Any thoughts? 2/19/2007 2:29:40 AM |

if you can afford 300 a month, you can get pretty much lease almost every new economy car out there today.
You can get car loans through your bank. 2/19/2007 2:36:37 AM |

When you calculate it, your usually paying a high (sub-prime) interest rate when you go the onlot financing route. Unless you have poor credit, it would probably be better to get a loan from your bank, or a place like lending tree. 2/19/2007 8:25:31 AM |

Put it on a credit card.

if you absolutely didn't have the cash and definitely needed a car that cheap - i'd put it on a 0% credit card and pay it off ASAP 2/19/2007 9:51:32 AM |

im just going out on a limb here, but if he's thinking about financing a $2000 car on-site he probably doesnt have a high enough available credit on the credit card(s)
not everyone has $2k cash available, dont feel bad. if you absolutely need it you can go get a loan from your bank.

many dealers will sell you a car for $2000 down, and $300/month payment. 2/19/2007 10:36:57 AM |

most banks won't finance car models that are over a certain age (like 10 years). 2/19/2007 11:43:46 AM |

you don't have to get a car loan from the bank to buy a car. you could get a personal loan which would mean a little higher interest rate. 2/19/2007 12:31:12 PM |

Well, the car is not for me.
It is for my little brother and I want to teach him some responsibility (Pay for his own car).
Back to the subject, know any places? 2/26/2007 3:57:32 PM |

If you can't figure this out, are you qualified to teach your younger brother anything?

maybe your parents should just get him a cheap car, instead of making him work some shitty job that will keep him from doing well in his schoolwork and getting into a good college 2/26/2007 8:30:49 PM |

^^all you're doing is teaching him poor financial decisions.
if he absolutely HAS to have a car, there are much better financing options for that amount than doing on site.
^i worked through high school and college, never had any problems. i didn't do great at either school, but it sure as hell wasn't because i had jobs.

If you want to teach him something, teach him to stay away from those places. The "buy here, pay here" lots are not in the car business - they are in the loan business. The fact that they sell cars is incidental.2/26/2007 10:01:56 PM |
