Overall, very nice, but the taillights are generic and bland. Could have been a lot better.

Quote :
"Audi will display the all-new 2008 Audi A5 at the Geneva Motor Show next month. The A5 is the German automaker's first full-size coupe since the Audi 100, slotted somewhere between the A4 and A6 sedans. Considerably larger than the TT coupe, the A5 is marketed as a true four-seater.

Audi is expected to offer a 3.0 liter TDI V6 model, as well as a 3.2 liter FSI V6. Later, high-perfromance S5 and RS5 variants will be offered. What's more, an A5 convertible will eventually replace the A4, S4 and RS4 Cabriolets.

Transmission choices for the new two-door will include six-speed manual, CVT, and DSG gearboxes. All-wheel-drive will be offered across the board. Audi promises razor-sharp handling thanks to an engine placement behind the front wheels, resulting in better weight distribution than any existing Audi, aside from the mid-engine R8."

The RS5 would be a killer, with 435 hp, it will squarely face-off against the upcoming 420 hp M3.

i think it looks really good, its just the back end looks a lot like the new 3series coupe. I think it will do well with sales, its conservative looking from the outside, but it will do well with the older crowd

Very attractive. Wish it were more distinctive...but very attractive.

Definitely see a resemblance to the 335 coupe from the rear view.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that it looks quite nice. I dont mind the tail lights and the dash looks fine. You can't expect a radical new concept every time, and the fact that they aren't trying to emphasize or overstate the looks just means to me that they spent more time on the functionality. I know practically this may not be true, thats just the impression I get.

I'm not that excited about this, probably b/c i dont' think it'll handle as well as the competition and will be too heavy.

It never ceases to amaze me that people think high grip = good handling. It can, but its not an absolute.

its different handling

i consider the first one out of the turn the best handling car.
no mater how ugly its vulgar display of grip may have been.

I want to agree with that, but then remember the car that's "faster" is the one with the higher exit speed, not the one that comes out first. Also, handling is subjective, nto dependent on numbers. I'd say the better handling car is the one that feels better. Classic example is Corvette vs. 911. The z06 models are often 'faster' with higher speeds through the apex, but nobody argues that the fact that the 911 handles better.

yeah maybe because they don't compete with each other?

S5: V8 with 354 hp
M6: V10 with 507 hp

maybe the RS5 will have the V10 found in the S6 and the S8.

then maybe you can compare them.

[Edited on February 27, 2007 at 4:51 PM. Reason : not to mention, the M6 is probably much bigger than the S5. now if there was an S6 coupe....]

Wow, look at this... a TT made to like the R8, and more powerful than it!

I was confused for like 30 seconds trying to figure out what it was, before I read the story on it!

I think the proportions are pretty good, and I actually like the semi-hatchback thing going on in back. But a lot of the details are odd, especially the character line that runs around the back underneath the taillights...

yeah the A4 would be a lot nicer if they had a coupe edition. A4 is one of my top-runners for post graduation car and the sedan only option is one of my cons.
