Apparently, Apple and Cisco has settled their dispute, and both companies can use iPhone however they want to. Basically, what Apple wanted from the beginning.

where's the 'bending over' part again? sounds like a decent compromise, but I'll admit I don't really know the backstory on this.

Sounds like Apple stole Cisco's cookies. It's a compromise where Apple got everything they wanted and Cisco got nothing. Everyone thought Cisco was going to force Apple to pay out big bucks to use the name.

It seems nobody got bent over and both got what they wanted - apple got to use iPhone, cisco gets some opportunities for interoperability.

There's a lot more to it than what's being disclosed.

If it came down to who has the better lawyers, I assure you that we'd have won. Apple is quite a bit smaller than Cisco, and doesn't have nearly as much cash as we do.
