Soooo,

I wrecked my RSX... in the process I dented the catalytic converter and the exhaust pipe from the engine...

I also warped 3 of the 4 rims and ruined 2 tires... (ran over the curb)

The acura rims are $597 each and the tires are spec'd at $200 each...

I never liked the the type S rims in the first place... hopefully the body shop will work with me and let me order rims I want (insurance cut me a check personally)...

stock wheels are 17x7's and weigh 21lbs with 21lbs tires... so I'm probably looking for a 17x7/7.5 that’s lighter than that...

Aesthetics are also important though and the car is white... suggestions?

just get some used acura RSX wheels. lighter wheels arent really going to help at all. specially for daily driving. if you want something light and nice looking, prepare to spend a few $$. look at the SSR comps.

if i were you, i would take that nearly $3000 and buy a suspension setup and some 15" wheels.

I'm thinking those... they are simple and I don't think I'll want something different in 2years... they come in black too but black wheels scream ricer...

opinions on OZ wheels?

oh yeah and ^ ... all the work is being done at a body shop, Insurance only replaced 3wheels and 2 tires so I have $2200 to work with so suspension upgrades wouldn't be as easy to pass on as different rims...

since I want nice tires to go along with the wheels (Maryland actually see's snow) I can't get the SSR's... I considered the BBS RGR's which were on clearance... but they just sold out...

I can't place my order for another 2 weeks... the car is still being torn down and it could still possibly be totalled if they find a bit more damage...

I'm no fan of either. pick up a Honda Tuning magazine and thumb through it, many more (and better) options than tirerack.

if you actually look at those rims on the car they look like they could have come stock... (moreso the ones I'll probably get)

I like how most of the websites actually let you see how the wheels will look on your car including paint color... takes some of the guess work out of the game

[Edited on February 24, 2007 at 1:42 PM. Reason : maybe not so much for the BBS]

I have OZs and I like them.

but I don't like either of the 2 that you posted. I prefer the Type-S wheels.

A) doesn't specify type-S or regular...
B) I live in maryland...
C) I never liked any of the RSX rims in the first place...

joking aside thanks for the link... I do appreciate it. (no sarcasm)

Seriously. If you're using the car for street racing get some steel rims (real steel) and get them chromed. It's far more worth it in the long run of not having to replace dented rims. Just because they say it's steel doesn't mean it's strong. That's like all the fake swords that call themselves steel that are actually 440 stainless crap.

There's a few manufacturers out there that sell steel rims but they aren't cheap that's for damn sure. But they also aren't $600 a pop. Honestly I don't care what level of car enthusiast you are. $600 a rim is excessive.

^^ thats the point, why the hell am I going to put $600/wheel back on the thing... I can buy wheels I like for a lot cheaper... i choked when I saw the stock wheels were $597 each...

This car might see tracktime sometime in the distant future... but not street racing... but I don't want to hurt the cars performance(its at least on the slow edge of fast) by putting wheels that are heavier than stock... I never liked the stock rims and I want something that I personally think looks nice (typically meaning nearly stock but slightly unique)...

so all in all I plan on getting 4 wheels that I like that are as light or lighter than stock for less than $2200. This hasn't been very hard to find at all... the rims I had on my accord back in the day I walked out the door with the complete package for $1250... so I've got enough money to get decent wheels, good tires and still pocket a little bit...

hmm those are pretty nice... still the problem of MD vs NC though

and they are heavier...

[Edited on February 26, 2007 at 10:11 PM. Reason : and heavier than stock... but along the lines of what I'm looking for so thanks]

I don't think it would make that big of a difference as far as the weight is concerned. About the location problem, I bet the seller can ship the wheels to maryland. if you ship ground, it'll probably be reasonable rate.

those wheels are decent, just watch out for wheels that are nearly double the weight of factory (maybe not a prob for the RSX, but my factory 13"s were only 15lb apiece)
