I have a 2003 Johnson 115 4 Stroke. I'm not that familiar with outboard motors, how does the alternator work on these? I want to hook up a couple amps for a stereo but I am worried that it will not have the power. I already plan on adding an additional 2 deep cell batteries for a total of 3 but I still don't know how it will work. Anyone done this before?

you'll be fine with an extra deep cell or two. i would reccomend seperating one off for starting only so you're not left stranded. when it's running, you can switch them back into the circuit for charging.

might be a good idea to get a solar charging system also, they work nicely on boats for supplemental charging.

i need to see some pics of this new rig. when's our maiden voyage?

yeah.

good thing is it's not as big of a deal in a boat as a car, since most of the use of such equipment is sitting still with the motor off.

i know for a fact this one is just going to be a floating bar.

livin the lake norman life.

I'll be on Norman this weekend too, I'm still debating on getting the big boat back in the water or not...the superjet is still in the shop after my dipshit brother's friend ran into it.
