I was going down the road on main campus near Harrison, that small tilted road with the barriers that they've been working on for like 2 years. Anyhow, I was behind a flatbed truck with a full load of bricks and the truck stopped near the end of the road and I assumed that the truck was going to make a left turn but pedestrians got in the way. wrong...

I was a good 5 feet away from the truck and the driver started to back up. I'm frantically trying to push my bike back up the hill and steer the bike to either side so that the driver could see me, but that ended up being futile. I yelled out to a few pedestrians to make the driver stop. Like 20 people just yelled out and truck stopped about 1/2 foot from my bike. I was about to shit my pants.

And I was in the drivers side mirrors when I followed the truck up to that intersection.

and that's the reason you should always make sure you are visible in the person in front of you's mirrors.

a car would have been the same way except it would have reverse

did you try blowing the horn?

Horn not currently installed, broke off from last wreck.

I just actually had another incident today. Was taking a round-about near my house and was getting pretty low, then all of a sudden I lose traction. I shifted my weight back up and hit the ground with my left hand. Apparently, I hit myself back up straight, but went flying off onto the adjacent road. Would have low sided, but not exactly sure I got out of that one. My glove is rashed up...

Done riding for the week... Don't want to repeat last year where I wrecked the day before spring break...

yeah i usually pull the clutch in, hold it wide open and let it bounce off the rev limiter. works much better than a horn esp if you have a pipe

your post implied that you were in the mirrors up to the intersection but were directly behind the truck at the intersection and couldn't see his mirrors. I did read, but thanks for trying.

not having a horn is kinda stupid.
