Anybody heard of this chick? I first heard her on the Ghostface track "You Know I'm No Good" off of 'More Fish'...I did a little investigating back then and it turns out that track was based off her song originally, a la Eminem's song based off Dido's...but anyway now her (original) single "I'm No Good" is out with a video if yall have seen it...this chick is real nice though...I love her voice...you can hear that "I'm No Good" song and a few others here http://www.myspace.com/amywinehouse among other places

"You Know I'm No Good" was the iTunes free download of the week about a month and a half ago. I really like the song. I listened to another one of her songs, "Rehab" and I didn't really like it. She's hit or miss for me, but I really like her when she's hit. The song "Rehab" is ironic though because she really needs to go to rehab.

This normally isn't my type of music, but I heard her on satellite radio yesterday at a bar and that shit was pretty good. I heard the "you know i'm no good song" that treetwista was talking about.

I was thinking when I heard it I needed to at least check out one or two more songs and decide whether I liked it or whether it was shit.

ETA--- it's got a great 60's soul and motown feel to it, and that's why I was digging on it. That soulful voice like a female Sam Cooke. Good shit.

they said she had/has been approached to do the theme song for the next James Bond movie...when I first heard her voice thats kind of the type of voice she seemed to have...the old 1960s/1970s soulful strong female voice...good stuff...I listened to her first album also which is called Frank...pretty good...she was only 19 when she did it...I like Back to Black better myself but its worth a listen

I dismissed her awhile back because I thought the Rehab song was annoying. I've since listened to Back In Black and I think its a great album. She's able to pay reverence to all of her obvious influences without sounding too derivative. There were also some really tight studio musicians that were put together to record the album.
