I'd be interested, as long as I don't have to work

I got catcher equipment, though haven't used any of it (yet) short of the mitt

not real sure where you guys practice but if you are having trouble, i would shoot an email or call the town of cary. i work with them part-time and i don't think all the fields are in use right now. you could probably try one of the Bond Park fields... i dont really remember which ones are adult-sized, but I think Fields 1 and 5 are the biggest. Field 5 is where Green Hope HS played their first couple of years before they had their own field. i would also maybe ask them about field time over at Thomas Brooks Park or Middle Creek Park. Those are very nice places and they may let you slide in there once a week.

sounds good to me. I'd prefer a bigger field to the homerun slugfest we had last year at pullen.

Can you hit a 60-70 mph pitch?

Come on out... forget the cup though.

west raleigh little league and some middle school teams are practicing on the bond fields from 5:30-9 most nights. i know they practice on atleast fields 5,6,7. 6 and 7 are too small anyways. adult softball starts within the next couple weeks and they will be practicing at Thomas Brooks and Middle Creek complexes, but i dont think they use all 4 fields at each place every night.

Ok...well will someone let me know when the softball stuff starts up??? I'm REALLLLY REALLLLY REALLLLY interested. And yes, I can. I used to play fast-pitch growing up. I can hit 75 mph pitches...NO PROBLEM! I might have some timing issues...as I've played slow pitch for the past couple of years...dah well. I still can though...that's why I like hittin' up the batting cage every now and then.

I wouldn't mind having a girl... but keep in mind it is baseball and you will probably be the only girl.

Raleigh Parks & Rec does have co-ed softball leagues if you're interested in that.

^ True.

I have checked Cary Parks and Rec but you must have a WHOLE team. I don't know enough people to get a WHOLE team up. They said they need at least 8 people on the roster and like a couple hundred at first...before the first game (which are normally Tuesdays and Thursdays). You said Raleigh has a co-ed team? Of course Cary has both co-ed and women's and men's individuals. I kind of just want a women's team, but co-ed or whatever would be fine.

Ok, here's the deal.

Probasesteal is going to get us a field and post here. We're looking at next Saturday, 10AM.

Who's in? PS Bring 5 baseballs per person and a little money if we have to pay for the field if we have to.

the venezualens we had on our team last season were raw as fuck.

Frankie was topping probably 92-93

you're definintly not going to be hitting against a pitching machine

also, Mike Protrazka (sp? state pitcher a few years back) pitches for teams in this league from time to time

once again not a bp pitcher if you can't play ball you're going to get demolished

*you dont have to pay for fields at bond park, but if a little league team etc has practice they'll kick you off. The little league tryout and draft was saturday morning, so practices will probably start next week sometime

and there was 10 teams in the league last year. 1 team that seemed to be a high school team playing fall ball to work together. Also the latin raleigh league puts together an "all-star" team of sorts, and they're pretty good.

if ya'll do play just pray you're the team that gets frankie and tommy.

apparantly, according to steve, I was 11-for-19 in that wood bat summer league, but my spreadsheet says I was 13-for-26.

Also went 3-1 with a 1.28 ERA and 41 K, 3 BB in 28 Innings

I'm down to play. I do play in a softball league on mondays and wednesdays though.

if anyone wants to go to bond park next weekend and play homerun derby, let me know, ive got some guys interested.

I'm down for this since I didn't get a softball team together. It's been forever since I've swung a bat, so I would suck at batting (which I never was good at), but damn if I couldn't play some center field back in the day.

yea bond park

went out there a few weeks ago, nice nice place to be...really pretty large place so shouldnt have to worry with the home run derby aspect.

we prolly need about 11 people to be sure to even have 9 show up

It's fucking 380 down the line in Right... I'm not a big fan of dirt infields but yeah that field is nice... Good luck getting hits off of ^^ ... I was really good at one point in my life and I was lucky to get 3-4 solid knocks in 20-25 pitches against him.
