I'll probably go to mine. I'll run into a few people from high school almost every time I go home for Christmas or Thanksgiving and it would be cool to catch up with some people that I lost touch with.

going to a HS reunion would be about the saddest most lame thing i can think of.

all those hucklebucks who stay in their hometown, knock up Mary Jane Rottencrotch, and go work in a sock factory to support their 5 snotty semi-retarded kids.

what the fuck you gonna have to say?

"durr... i always thot u were hot. do u bwn?"

I would use it as an opportunity for networking, but I haven't had one yet, so I'm speaking theoretically, and not from experience.

since i went to high school in bummblescump, the only networking i could hope for is to talk to the other 4 fully literate, non-religious nutball, successful people i graduated with. Of course i talk to 3 of them on a regular basis anyways.

I am tempted to go to mine just to see what kinda train wrecks happened. I know at least one guy has been a fry cook at the burger joint since he was 16 (so 9 years now) and has like 4 kids with 3 differant hos, the first was conceived, at prom, in the bed of his pick-up

cain's on point

the only reason to go is for the stories of how badly people you knew messed up their lives.

and to see how fat or tanning bed scarred the "hot" girls in HS have become

girls that peak before 20 dont hold up well

i plan on going, and doing a ton of pointing and laughing

^^&^hahaha

question. Mine is coming up next year. Is it typical to bring your wife/kids to these functions?

I went to my 5 year, and it was just an all out booze fest. I imagine the 10 year will be similar, but without the sex and drugs.

if i am married/in a serious relationship i will take the woman. As for kids, see if you can get ahold of whoever is planning it and see if there will be anything for you kids to do there

This thread reeks of people who are still harboring issues from being picked on in high school.

I can think of several people that I used to chill with in highschool who own successful businesses or have good careers. It will be cool to see some of these people and catch up with them even though we obviously didn't make the effort to stay in touch after highschool.

I did but didn't want to go to my 10 year, but boy was I glad that I did. Not only did I get back in touch with many of my friends from HS, but it was amazing to see how people ended up. And for the most part I can agree with the comment about girls that peak before they're 20. A couple were still bombshells, and the others... wow, it's been a rough 10 years. I did actually do some networking, and for the most part everybody was really cool. People who I wasn't that close with in HS actually came up and talking. It was amazing how much everybody has grown up and let go of the shit in the past. In the end we all had a great time, and relived old memories, I wouldn't have missed it for the world.

We're all actually really looking forward to the 15 or 20 year.

Why? In 10 years a lot of people have finished their education, started a career, started families, travelled extensively, etc. High school and college were awesome, but they really aren't much to talk about. At 28 people have done a lot in the way of transitioning into adults. There should be a lot to catch up on and I think it will be pretty cool to see some of the folks I used to party with back in the day.

i've never heard of 5 year reunions. seems pretty pointless to me. i mean, if you went to college, you'd barely be out of undergrad and most likely still unsure of your career. not much changes 5 years out of high school

I suspect that the same people that the people that track you down for HS reunions are the same people that are in charge of running the HS alumni association. The potential for getting donations is quite a good motivator for them to track you down...
