I wonder when the Coke contract runs out. I remember I was on campus either 99 or 2000 when Coke's contract with State ran out and all vending machines, coke products, etc were moved out and Pepsi moved in.

As a side note, there used to only be one place on campus to get Pepsi, because the University has a contract with Coke. That was in the 1911 building in the little snack bar run by a blind lady-it was a federally-funded program, so the contract didn't apply. However, since they are remodeling the building, they kicked the nice lady out. I thought that was mean.

Here's my vote for Pepsi-Cola....screw Coke, even if our colors match!

was later than 99-2000. they still had coke for my freshman year in 2k1.

Pepsi's 5 year contract was 99-04.. It was pepsi when I started in 2000, and I remember them changing to coke in spring 04.. Like Coke better than Pepsi, but I missed the Sunkist during my last semester.

I remember drinking coke on campus starting my Junior year (fall 03).
The reason I remember is because I hate pepsi products so I never drank sodas my first couple of years at state. Then Coke came and thats about all I would drink so my workouts went to crap.

i remember in maybe 99 or something i put 50 cents in a soda machine in sullivan and instead of a canned drink, it was a can-shaped canister with a pepsi tshirt in it and 50 cents

Pepsi used to do weird giveaways like that. They had one where the can would pop open when you tried to pop the tab and a pressurized mechanism would lift a $20 bill out. Problem was that some people then tried to drink some fluid that would be in the can (leaked from the mechanism?) and then sued when it made them sick.

I was at state from fall '00 to spring '04 and the switch was made sometime during then. i remember having to buy coke from the grocery store for a while because all we had on campus was pepsi.
