I saw two lambos today... an orangish one on Avent Ferry and then a black one on Walnut street. I don't remember ever seeing a lamborghini in North Carolina. Something going on in Raleigh today?

LV2state: I didn't get a great look at it, as it was driving the opposite direction as me. However, it was the exact same color as Mario's, and from the picture, I think it's the same car.

I don't really keep up with my lambos anyways. I think they're stupid cars and a waste of money. Fast in a straight line, but most are worthless on the track.

you only want to beat them performance-wise... what about the rest?

can you build a [x supercar] REPLICA, with the same performance, same amenities, same safety, same technology, same testing that goes into making a supercar, same everything, for 50-70K?

of course not. it will cost you just the same as the maker, actually more, because they make them in bulk, and you would be making only one.

yeah, you can equal or better those three easily. technology is debateable depending on the car you're comparing and the car you're building.

you are correct about the testing though, your average person isn't going to through anything that extensive. on the other hand, typically you're going to be building a combination that's been proven to work. you'll also gain loads of testing/experience as the car is used.

Evidently Anand (of anandtech.com fame, also NCSU alum) has an orange Murcielago as well. Though according to what I heard recently, you're unlikely to see it in the next while as the engine grenaded due to some sort of manufacturing issue.

While I'm sure it's nice to have enough money to rock a $300K car, it would suck to get one after spending 2 years or so on the waiting list, and then have it blow up a couple months later.

I saw a black dude in a brand new orange one (had paper tags on it) picking up some white girl in the coliseum deck (OMG- jk). I just sorta laughed... I've never seen someone drive into the first level, only to pick someone up, turn around, and drive out. I think total it took him like 10 minutes to turn it around. This was monday on campus...
