man after seeing batman begins last night i cant wait for this to come out.
only one of a handful of movies i actually anticipate.

http://imdb.com/title/tt0468569/
to be released in 2008.

its pretty obvious the villain will be the joker, although they never showed ninja man from begins dieing so he could come back as well, also they never killed scarecrow. Its looks like the cartoon where no villains actually die, they just keep getting recycled in and out of arkam.

^^They also list Two-Face...don't know whether he actually plays a role in this one or if they'll just show his origin to set up the next movie.

Definitely looking forward to this, though.

^thats what I was thinking too - I'm sure the people making the movie chose Ledger for a reason, I bet he'll do well

yeah, when i found out ledger was doing the joker, I was the only one of my friends who thought this could be a good thing. I can see this working out fine.

anyways, anyone else read that Christian Bale might have to be Batman in The Justice League movie due to a clause in his Batman contracts?

yeah oldman as the good guy is a bit weird, and ledger in any movie is bad, and i also dont like eackheart as dent although he may be able to pull it off, i just wish they got grittier actors to play those roles.

I could imagine it, a more serious looking joker.

But, did the Joker already have his accident, or are they starting something new?

^That sucks...pretty much kills the chance of the JLA movie featuring Tom Welling as Superman, as I just dont see those 2 being a good match (although I doubt Bale/Routh would be either).

And arent there enough female characters in the Batman universe that they could have had Maggie Gyllenhaal play a different person rather than recasting Rachel Dawes? Im fine with ditching Katie Holmes, but I hate recasting between movies.

the joker in this movie will be completely different than the joker in the original batman movie...

they are portraying a young joker this time around...before any deformities to his face, etc...

some versions of the comic do not even have an "accident" like the original movie portrays

also, the 3rd movie will feature the joker going on trial, and that is where he scars harvey dent...and we get 2face

I actually like the thought of Ledger as Joker. Can't be Jack, but Ledger will at some youth, a different spin, and can make the character fit in these Batman go around.

regarding the Two-Face question, IMDB has this to say:

Quote :
"Batman and Gordon find alliance with a newly appointed DA Harvey Dent to stop a vicious killer"

The killer in question is The Joker, so I imagine that Harvey is just going to be a secondary character in this one, setting him up for future use.

Sounds like The Long Halloween, to me. Or at least, The Long Halloween with The Joker added.

Paul would hav also been a good choice. But he might just make the joker a bit over the top. IMO Ledger woud have more of a dark cynacim (sp?) than Paul. However, Paul could prob deliver comedy better...depends on how they want to play the Joker out.

i think the joker will be a more serious character without all the flash and comedy we are used to seeing. i can't wait.

as long as he's a decently acted homocidal lunatic with an infectious laugh then i don't care who plays him...

I don't see him being a good joker either, but if they're doing the young joker, it might work. Jude Law would be awesome too, but no one will top Jack. I'm excited about the rest of the cast though.

Word is they are casting Sal Maroni, James Gandolfini and Alan Dale being names tossed around in rumors, so Joker is not tossing the acid. However, Lachey Hulme and Crispin Glover were named as strong possibilities for Joker, but both were quickly dismissed with the out-of-left-field announcement of Heath Ledger; so don't expect either Gandolfini or Dale (the Dale rumor had supposedly already been dismissed).

A few pages from the first draft of the script leaked a few weeks ago, but they have been deleted from the page on which I originally found them. From what I read, this movie is going to be dark as hell.

It comes out on my birthday.

In addition, Aaron Eckhart as Two Face? I don't remember him having a small continent for a chin in the comic.
