the "owners" of UFC (zuffa) purchased pride. the ufc didn't actually buy them. but they are under

the same umbrella now, however they will be operating as seperate entities. now that everyones

under one cap collectively, you can see a lot of matchups that you normally wouldn't due to contract

restraints. now they can actually show highlight footage pre-ufc fights of mirko while he was

with pride. same with rampage for example.

but this was a great move for mma b/c now you can have a "better" more accurate ranking

system.

With the two unified, there really won't be any more questions about who the top fighters in the world are. This is a great day for MMA and the fans.
