anyone taken this before?

they are offering a distance ed version over the summer and it'd be nice to know how the class is

it says the class was recorded over 15 weeks but summer session is 10 weeks, so if it's a huge courseload, i might have to pass

I am taking it now. It is a really good class, but a lot of work. If it is the only class you are taking, you should be all right.

well, i'd really only be able to work on it over the weekend, that's why i'm worried

how many hours a week do you generally need to devote to it?

what is the course prefix and number?

if it is MAE 435, you are looking at 8-10 hours a week maybe, that includes watching the lectures and stuff

it's ECE 535 but i think it's the same as MAE 535

[Edited on March 31, 2007 at 5:18 PM. Reason : ^is that before or after condensing it down from 15 weeks to 10?]

I spend around 12 hours a week working on the homework and watching lectures.

Yes, you will have more work to do in a shorter amount of time. But realize for on campus courses a regular semester course meets 2 or 3 days a week, while summer session courses meet every day. I haven't taken anything DE over the summer, but I would think you could expect multiple things due every week and it would be hard to work just on weekends.

I imagine if you email the guy teaching it he can tell you whats up.

I realize it is previously recorded and everything . . . but someone still has to be "teaching" it
