So, this past weekend I was at home in Va, and went to a petstore which was absolutely appalling...the conditions were awful, and I want to file a complaint, but I dont know who I would do it with....
anyone have an idea? I know it's in Va, but...i figured there might be a general place i could go.. 4/3/2007 8:32:21 PM |

Maybe the Better Business Bureau?
[Edited on April 3, 2007 at 8:37 PM. Reason : Search their website for the shop, see if there are other complaints, too.] 4/3/2007 8:34:35 PM |

i was gonna say the bbb but i'm sure there are email addresses to pet societies in that town...just send them an email and be like "hey can you check out this pet store, it was appalling" or something 4/3/2007 8:38:17 PM |

if it was a pet store chain, emailing the corporate whoevers usually helps... somewhat. i had to do it once, but it was for a smaller problem... i hate bad pet stores. 4/3/2007 8:42:42 PM |

^^^ and ^^^^ I dont know what the new name is, but it used to be Pet Tails. And it's in Midlothian, Va. It used to be really nice but then the older couple sold it, and my mom took me in there to show me just how awful it had become. It's really dirty and the caging is completly inadequate. The had puppies (which i for one am totally against the sale of puppies in stores because they are often from puppy mills) in cages that were no more than 3ft x 1.5ft and a boa that had to be atleast 8ft in a 30gallon tank, among other things.
But thanks for the ideas, I'll look into the BBB and see about the SPCA as well. 4/3/2007 9:52:08 PM |

Obligatory asshole response (please read below it): So you found the conditions appalling and were to much of a bitch to complain to someone at the store. Instead you leave the store and don't bother even getting the name of the store, and now you want to file a complaint.
Go back, look the shit up on google or an online phonebook, get the name and report them to everyone and anyone.
