Granted anyone with a clue knows this is pretty much a bullshit charge, especially if it involves a black man, but not what we need right now considering the events of last week.

having been arrested for speeding in the past, and having the extra misdemeanor tacked on and taken to jail -- 500 bucks says it has something to do with them asking to search his car and he said NO. like he is allowed to do. but they say WE'LL ARREST YA ANYWAYS ASSHOLE HOW ABOUT THAT.

my bond on those was always 1200 but maybe black guy rate is 1500

Seems to me that resisting arrest was not allowing yourself to get arrested, but with the way some cops are, any little thing can get blown out of proportion if they are on a power trip.

Maybe the cop did do or say something inappropriate but Larry's reaction to this is what caused the charges to be filed. It's unfortunate and takes a lot of humility but someone in his position has to be strong enough to make the decision to be the better man and address the situation appropriately.

I figure there are 2 possibilities for the resisting an officer charge:

1. as has been mentioned, he refused to let the cop search his car.

2. he saw the cop see him speed, and tried to get away/turn down some backroads etc before the cop caught up to him. I had a friend who was charged with obstructing/resiting an officer for that.

News and Observer's article has a bit more information. He was going 41 in a 25, he was pulled, and "refused to comply" with all of the officer's demands. It says the charges are simply misdemeanors.

You do realize that this guy is by far the best assistant we have? He was only picked as a top 10 assistant in the nation two years ago.

He also is an amazing recruiter, and everyone associated with the program knows he's the man. I'd heard that he was the main recruiter for Hickson.

It's unfortunate that this minor incident happened, but realize that it is minor, and to lose Coach Harris for any reason would be a devastating blow.
