I have to say house of 1000 corpses was the better of the two zombie movies.

I mean, devils rejects had some crucial scenes, but the rest just felt like filler to me, and no further mention of Dr. Satan in devils rejects? wtf?

house of 1000 corpses was awesome as a gruesome, but hilarious horror film. when they went down in that mine shaft (or whatever) everyone that i went with just kept looking at each other, going "wtf mate." greatness.

Zombie has already said it's going to be as brutally violent as they can get away with. Part of what made the original so great was that it didn't need excessive gore (or any gore at all really) to be scary.

the only reason i'm going to see this is because he wanted to create a story for characters you never dealt with (like michael's mom, etc).

he even admitted that he hates remakes, and wouldn't have done this if he thought it was going to just be an updated version of the same story. at the same time, i get the impression that michael is going to be perceived a lot differently, and i don't know how to feel about that.

i also think it's great that malcolm mcdowell has never seen the halloween series, and so he won't be copying donald pleasence.

and the kid who plays young michael looks like a girl.

We're totally focusing on the wrong thing. Who's the new Laurie? Jamie Lee Curtis was what MADE the originals. Who the hell is this "Scout Taylor-Compton"? Never heard of her. Not nessecarily a bad thing, (Who had heard of Jamie Lee Curtis before the first Halloween?) but it is still disconcerting. Malcom McDowell MIGHT be able to carry the thing, he's the perfect guy for Dr. Loomis and I would have never thought of him.
I know, in my heart of hearts, that it will suck, but I'll shell out my damn $7.50 anyway...

1000 corpses is by no means award winning, but it is a fun flick and fucking awesome to watch with first timers. I love it

The great thing about the original Halloween was that they didn't tell Myers' story. He's a guy with a knife, in your neighborhood, trying to kill you. That's all the audience needed to know. There's no blood whatsoever in the original, all the horror is created with creepy camera work.

Zombie will screw this up, just like every other worthless movie he's made.

hah house of 1000 corpses was great in its own way. 2/3 of the way through it seems to completely abandone the previous story line and is just a wacked out devil, surgeon, robot fest. cant argue with that. would see again.
