How difficult is this course ? Is it on the same level of difficult as MA 225 or more close to MA 425? How should I best prepare for this course?

It's in between the two.

Have you already taken 425? If you have, you should do just fine.

The proofs involved in 407 are pretty simple. the difficult part, at least for me, is that it's something completely new. It changed my idea of what math was all about, but then, i was pretty naive about math back then. If you've had some good proofing class, it should be cake.

^^exactly. Depending on your ma 405 prof. it may be like the abstract vector space material towards the end of the course. Ma 407 is abstract, basically all you have to work with is the definition and maybe some number theory ( which you will learn as the course progesses ).

^ doesn't really matter. Only difference would be either course gives you more experience ( not so much knowledge as they are almost completely disconnected in terms of subject matter) for the other.

It's not any harder than MA 225. It's different. But I have an A+ in it right now. It's really not that bad.
