Just saw Mythbusters and they busted the myth that putting sugar in a cars gas tank will destroy the engine. Nothing happened when they tried it.

Bleach on the other hand was found to be a plausible myth. After putting bleach in the gas tank the engine quit. Then, after leaving the bleach in the gas tank over night they found that it caused the inside of the gas tank to rust.
Moreover, bleach mixed in with oil causes the engine to overheat.

Potatos and Bananas up the tailpipe don't do anything. They flew out of the tailpipe within a matter of seconds of the engine being turned on. (They however did not try putting more than one potato in the tailpipe)

Also, they found that putting an Egg in your radiator can actually fix a small radiator leak.

obviouly they haven tried potatoes hard enough or tehy tried it on a large displacement engine

some unnamed person did it to another unnamed persons ricorz car in front of my house that would wake me up at 4 in the morning, and he had to get it towed because it wouldn't run at all
